Former Law & Order actor Dennis Farina was arrested while going through security at the Los Angeles International Airport on May 11, 2008, after a loaded handgun was found in his briefcase. Farina reportedly told police he'd forgotten that the .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol was in his luggage.
The 64-year-old Farina was initially charged with a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon. Those charges were later upgraded to a felony when authorities discovered the gun wasn't registered. Farina was booked and bail was set at $35,000.
In a brief public statement, Farina apologized for the incident and blamed his arrest on "my own stupidity."
