Denis Leary is an actor and comedian who starred in and co-created the FX series Rescue Me. Leary is also an author, In 2008 Denis Leary released the book Why We Suck. After six firefighters from his hometown died in a fire on December 3, 1999, Denis Leary started the Leary Firefighters Foundation which raises money for firehouses to purchase needed safety equipment. Life and Career
Denis Leary was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. His mother was a maid, and his father was an auto mechanic.
Leary attended Emerson College in Boston, where he honed his skills as a comedian. After graduation he became involved with the Boston comedy circuit.
Soon he made his way into TV and film, starring in over 40 films in his career. From 2004 to 2007 he played the lead role in the FX series Rescue Me. In 2009 he is set to reprise his role as the voice of Diego in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
