October 30, 2007: Seven Democratic Presidential Candidates participated in a presidential debate on MSNBC. Seven of the eight candidates participated in the debate, as it was announced on October 19, that Senator Mike Gravel did not meet fund raising requirements for participation.
Attacking Clinton
The debate lasted two hours, and candidates and moderators alike seemed to take the opportunity to apply pressure on poll leader Hillary Clinton. Clinton faced challenges regarding her policies on the Iraq War, Social Security, and her record as First Lady. Senators Richardson and Dodd, passed on the chance to attack Clinton, choosing to focus on issues instead of individuals.
