• Demetri Martin is a stand-up comedian and Daily Show correspondent. He is the creator of the Daily Show's "Trendspotting" segments, reporting on such trends as hookahs, guerilla marketing, MySpace and the Xbox 360.

  Martin is currently developing a comedy sketch/variety show for Comedy Central called Important Things with Demetri Martin.

  Martin recorded a stand-up CD, called These Are Jokes, which was released on September 26, 2006. He has cited comedian Steven Wright as an influence. Both use deadpan, absurdist one-liners in their routines.
