In his rookie year, DeMar DeRozan, Forward/Guard for the Toronto Raptors, will participate in the 2010 Slam Dunk Contest on February 13, 2010. This event will be screened live on TNT at 8PM ESThttp://www.nba.com/dunk/. The event is being staged in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/

Also competing in the Slam Dunk Contest for 2010 are:

• Gerald Wallace, Forward for the (Charlotte Bobcats),
• Eric Gordon Guard for the (Los Angeles Clippers)
• Shannon Brown Guard for the (Los Angeles Lakers) and
• Nate Robinson, Guard for the (New York Knicks), .

In his rookie season, DeMar DeRozan fell short to three-time Dunk champion, Nate Robinson. After earning the final spot with his win in the Dunk-Off over Eric Gordon, DeRozan outlasted the other candidates, and made it to the finals, but only to fall just short of Robinson, who went on to earn his second straight title.

DeRozan received 49% of the fan vote, giving Robinson the edge with a 51% vote in favor of him.
