The 2008 Mississippi Primary was held on March 11, 2008, from 7 am to 7 pm CST. Early exit polls suggested Barack Obama and John McCain wins, which proved correct. 33 Democratic delegates were allocated, which could prove significant in the tight race between Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton. The Republicans allocated 38 delegates from Mississippi even though McCain had already mathematically won the party's nomination.
