  • Delmon Young is an outfielder for the Minnesota Twins. After attending Adolfo Camarillo High School in Camarillo, CA, Young was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays with the 1st overall pick in the 2003 amateur draft. As a member of the Rays Durham Bulls affiliate Young once threw his bat at an umpire after being called out on strikes, he was reprimanded with a 50-game suspension. Young made his major league debut on August 29, 2006, going 2-3, with a Home Run and 2 Runs Batted In in a Rays loss to the Chicago White Sox. In 2007 Young played 162 games for the Rays and hit .288 Batting Average, with 13 Home Run and 93 Runs Batted In, finishing second to Dustin Pedroia in Rookie of the Year voting. After the season, the Rays traded Young, Jason Pridle, and Brendan Harris to the Twins, in exchange for Jason Bartlett, Matt Garza, and Eduardo Morlan.
  • Strengths

Young has a great bat and home run power. He also has a strong throwing arm[1].
  • Weaknesses

Young can get over aggressive at the plate, with a greater that 5:1 strike out to walk ratio. There are also concerns about his attitude stemming from his incident in the minors[1].
