Deion Sanders

Born Deion Luwynn Sanders on August 9, 1967 in Ft. Meyers, Florida, This Pro Bowler started his career as a Florida State defensive back and wide receiver and was named All American Cornnerback in [[198wonon]] and a Jim Thorpe Award recipient in 1988. In 1989 he was the First Round Draft Pick of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons where he played until 1993.http://www.scripophily.net/delusaplco.html

In the same year he started his MLB career as an outfielder with the New York Yankees. He went on to play with the Atlanta Braves until 1993 as well. The following year he signed with the Cincinnati Reds and was traded from the Falcons to the San Francisco 49ers for one season. The following year he joined the San Francisco Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. Shortly following his retirement Deion went to work for the CBS network as a pre-game sports commentator for "The NFL Today where he spent the next four years. In 2004 he decided to hang up retirement and returned to football to play with the Baltimore Ravens where he remained until 2006 when he again retired becoming an analyst for the NFL Network. Prime Time

Though Deion Sanders played both baseball and football professionally, he excelled in the NFL during his 14-year career. Sanders was one of the top pass defenders in the league. In addition to playing on defense, Sanders would often line up on offense as well. In 1996, Sanders became a starter on both sides of the ball while playing for the Dallas Cowboys. During his NFL career, Sanders put up 7,838 all-purpose yards and scored a total of 22 touchdowns, 19 of which were on defense. He was selected to eight Pro Bowls and was named the 1994 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
