Degrassi The Next Generation is a Canadian teen drama-soap opera television series created by Linda Schuyler and her husband Yan Moore. The show began running in 2001. It is a spin-off which takes place fourteen years after the original shows: Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High. Degrassi The Next Generation airs on CTV in Canada and on Teen Nick on Fridays at 8 PM in the US. The series focuses on a group of students who attend Degrassi Community School. It deals with many teen issues, including drugs, teen pregnancy, eating disorders and school shootings.
