Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in one of the body's deep veins. This condition often occurs in the legs after long-haul plane journeys, and thus has earned the nickname "Economy Class Syndrome." Vice-President Dick Cheney underwent treatment for DVT in 2007 after spending 65 hours aboard a jet during a nine-day journey to Asia.
