Deep Throat

  • Deep Throat was the alias used in the book All the President's Men to describe the man who leaked information about the Watergate scandal to Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. His identity remained a secret until 2005, when former FBI associate director Mark Felt revealed in a Vanity Fair article that he had been the informant.   • Deep Throat Identified

    The identity of the Woodward and Bernstein's informant was a secret until Felt's daughter convinced him to go public with the information that he had been the source of the Deep Throat leaks. There was some concern about the accuracy of the revelation, as Felt, who was 91, was suffering from dementia and didn't have full memory of the events surrounding Watergate.
