    When selecting a countertop fryer, consider the safety options. Some have a cool external surface that doesn't heat up with the oil. Other features that can prevent burns include external basket handles and a locking lid. Rubber feet will prevent the machine from slipping off the counter. Other nice features include a timer, adjustable heat settings and an indicator light. To save you oil some fryers have a automatic turning basket and a filter and drain so you can reuse the oil.

    Before buying a turkey fryer know the safety precautions that should be taken with its use. Never use indoors or in the garage and always keep children and pets away while it is in use. Check to be sure that the fryer has a frying basket, a poultry frying rack and a hook to grab the turkey. Usually you need to get a burner to heat the fryer.
