Debra Tate is the sister of actress Sharon Tate, who was brutally murdered by the followers of Charles Manson. Debra is instrumental in keeping Sharon's name before the public and volunteering for victim's rights. Tate is the ex-sister-in-law of director Roman Polanski.
Roman Polanski was arrested on September 26, 2009, in Switzerland, on charges he had sex with a 13-year-old girl, Samantha Geimer, in 1977. Tate was quoted as saying she did not believe Polanski could get a fair trial in the U.S. On September 30, 2009, Tate told The Today Show's Matt Lauer that she believed the sex between Polanski and the teen was a "consensual matter."http://www.nypost.com/p/news/international/tate_sister_polanski_won_get_fair_luBaEirKQ4pqrHVbOVQwJO
