  • Debra Messing is an American actress known for her roles both on the television and silver screen. Messing played Grace Adler on the sitcom Will & Grace from 1996-2006 which launched her career into the spotlight.

    Debra Messing was born on August 15, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York. She was raised in a small town outside of Providence, Rhode Island. Messing attended Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. She graduated in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in theater arts. Shortly after, Messing enrolled in the Graduate Acting Program at New York University and graduated three years later with a master's degree in fine arts. Messing married actor Daniel Zelman on September 3, 2000. They have a son named Roman Walker Zelman. The couple currently resides in New York City.
  • Acting Career

    In 1994 and 1995, Messing made guest appearances on the television series NYPD Blue. She made her film debut with the movie A Walk in the Clouds, in 1995. Afterwards, she co-starred in the FOX television sitcom Ned and Stacey. From there she landed roles in the sci-fi series Prey and the television sitcom Will & Grace. She has since played on the television series The Starter Wife as well as numerous feature films.
