  • Debra LaFave is a former teacher at Angelo L. Greco Middle School in Florida who was convicted of lewd and lascivious battery in 2006 for engaging in sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old male student. LaFave was sentenced to three years house arrest and another seven years probation.

    In October of 2009, LaFave asked for a change in the terms of her probation to allow her to have "supervised contact" with her friends and relatives children.   • Early Life

    LaFave grew up outside Tampa, Florida. Her mother was a cosmetologist and her father worked for the power company. According to LaFave, she was raped at age 13 at school by an older student, and soon afterwards developed a drinking problem and an eating disorder. At 18, LaFave began to model, but abandoned the career to study English at the University of South Florida. In 2001, LaFave's sister, Angie, was killed by a drunk driver.     In 2004, LaFave began having an affair with a 14-year-old student, going so far as to have sexual intercourse with him at school. After the boy's mother called police, LaFave was arrested in late June, 2004.
