• May 1, 2008:Deborah Jeane Palfrey was found dead in Florida in a suspected suicide. Her body was found in a small storage shed near her mother's mobile home in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Police say there was a handwritten suicide note, but did not disclose its contents.

  In a press conference, police stated that Palfrey had hung herself with a nylon rope. She was discovered by her 76 year old mother, who immediately called 911.

  Palfrey, known as the "DC Madam", was convicted of running a prostitution ring on April 15, 2008. The week long trial included testimony from 13 former 'escorts' who testified against her. She was found guilty of money laundering and racketeering.
