Deborah Gibson

Deborah Ann Gibson AKA Debbie Gibson was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 31, 1970. At the age of 16 she entered the pop music scene with a bang and soon became the youngest person to ever write, perform and produce a number 1 single ‘’Foolish Beat’’, she still hold that record to this day.

Deborah grew up in Long Island and started performing with her sisters at the age of five in the local Community Theatre. Deborah also wrote her first composition at the age five and by eight, she was performing in the children's chorus at the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC with artists like Plácido Domingo. At the age of 12 she was a professional Broadway actress working towards a recording career. At 16 her dream cam true when she was signed to Atlantic Records. ‘’Only In My Dreams’’ was her first single and went straight to the top of the charts.

Deborah Gibson has sold over sixteen million albums to date. Her astonishing career has gained her sold-out audiences rave reviews for her starring roles on Broadway, along with ASCAP Songwriter of the Year honors, Platinum albums, and #1 Billboard hits. To add to her accomplishments, Deborah is the lyricist and composer on her own Broadway musical, ‘’Skirts’’. She thinks of herself to be the conventional "All Around Entertainer", and continues to be a driving force in the entertainment industry.

Hit records

Altantic Records signed her and released her first album Out of the Blue. Five singles from the hit album reached the top 5 on the billboard charts "Only in My Dreams," "Shake Your Love," "Out Of The Blue," "Foolish Beat," and one more was in the top 25, "Staying Together."

Her second album Electric Youth earned her acclaim as it was number one on the charts in its debut week for both the album and the single "Lost in Your Eyes."
