Death Sentence

The 2007 thriller Death Sentence stars Kevin Bacon as a family man on a brutal quest for revenge.

The story follows Nick Hume, who has a great family and successful career. One night he witnesses the murder of his son during what appears to be a gas station robbery. After further investigation, he discovers his son's death was actually part of a gang initiation ritual. Nick commits himself to killing the people responsible for his son's death and protecting his family from further harm.

• With an 11% freshness rating at Rotten Tomatoes, the consensus isn't promising for this gritty, violence film. Roger Ebert, however, awarded the film 3 and a half stars in his review below.
