Death Cab for Cutie is a pop-leaning alternative rock band from Bellingham, Washington State led by front man Ben Gibbard. Their latest album, Narrow Stairs, was released on May 13th, 2008 and nominated for a Best Alternative Music Album Grammy Award.

Career for Death Cab for Cutie
The band formed at Western Washington University in 1997 and released their debut album Something About Airplanes in 1998. While the band released two more well-received albums, it wasn't until 2003's Transatlanticism that the band broke through into the mainstream. Songs from the album were featured in a variety of different television shows and movies and brought the band a slew of new fans. With the success of Transatlanticism, the band signed with the major label Atlantic Records and release the well-received album Plans.
