  • Death Cab for Cutie is a pop-leaning alternative rock band from Bellingham, Washington State led by front man Ben Gibbard. Their latest album, Narrow Stairs, was released on May 13th, 2008 and nominated for a Best Alternative Music Album Grammy Award.

  • Career

    The band formed at Western Washington University in 1997 and released their debut album Something About Airplanes in 1998. While the band released two more well-received albums, it wasn't until 2003's Transatlanticism that the band broke through into the mainstream. Songs from the album were featured in a variety of different television shows and movies and brought the band a slew of new fans. With the success of Transatlanticism, the band signed with the major label Atlantic Records and release the well-received album Plans.
