Death at a Funeral Reviews (Good)
- Time: The Very Lively Death at a Funeral
- "...director Frank Oz's insanely funny, if occasionally out-of-control, black farce..."
- eFilmCritic.com: Death at a Funeral Review (4/4)
- "There's nothing in "Death at a Funeral" that's any funnier than the tagline that appeared in some of the advertising: "A family that puts the F U in funeral." That's gold!"
- USATODAY.com: This Funeral is Just a Riot (3.5/4)
- "The lack of propriety and solemnity is precisely what makes this comic farce so uproariously funny."
- The Hollywood Reporter: Death at a Funeral Review
- "At its best, British farce should seem effortless. In "Death at a Funeral," the effort shows. Subplots are contrived and relationships pat. Yet this topsy-turvy funeral produces a number of smiles, giggles, pleasant guffaws and several solid, sustained laughs. Not a bad batting average as comedies go."
Death at a Funeral Reviews (Bad)
- Entertainment Weekly: Death at a Funeral Review (Grade: C+)
- "By the end of Death at a Funeral's effortful farce about busted British propriety, you may feel that peculiar facial ache that comes from wishing to laugh with no really satisfying release."
- Miami Herald: Death at a Funeral Review
- "Comedy equals tragedy plus time, they say. Maybe with a little more time to simmer, the death-in-the-family shenanigans of Death at a Funeral would have yielded a funnier result."
- Wall Street Journal: Death at a Funeral Review
- "But whatever head of steam "Death at a Funeral" gathers is dissipated by the repetitive, predictable jokes and by the cowardice of its sugary ending."
- New York Post: Death at a Funeral Review (2/4)
- "The movie is a gentle British ensemble comedy much like "Four Weddings and a Funeral" - minus the four weddings and four-fifths of the wit."
