Discovery Channel's The Deadliest Catch is a reality television show that documents the lives of crab fisherman in Alaska's Bering Sea. The title refers to the considerable risks to life and limb faced by these hardy adventurers. The program has inspired numerous specials, DVDs, books and a video game.

A lifelong fisherman, Harris started working on boats at age 7. By age 21, he was already captain of his own vessel.
