Chapter Seven: Into the Void

- Grab the loot from the two lockers in the tram station and head on to the engineering deck. You'll soon reach a large door.
- Power Node! Look left of the door for a blue panel.
- Through the door is a room filled with ammo and other goodies. Use the work bench, Store and save point as necessary. Then head into the lift.
- Take the cargo lift to Deck B first. The elevator will fill with necromorphs almost immediately, coming two at a time.
- Make liberal use of Stasis and hit them hard with whatever your strongest weapons are. The Force Gun works pretty well at taking limbs off in a single shot.
- If you kill each necromorph quickly enough, you'll survive the encounter with ease.
- Audio Log! Just in front of you when the lift lets on out Deck B.
- Head into the room and hang a right. You'll pass a fire extinguisher - take it with you.
- As you round the corner up ahead, look left to see a bloated necromorph waiting for you. Tag it with the extinguisher to send it flying. Backpedal a few steps, as there's a vent right above you.
- The bloated necromorph will be joined by two or three more enemies. If you've backed up, they should drop in front of you, but be aware that you're exposed at your left side.
- When they're all dead, take the corridor left and clear out all the loot in lockers in the area. Then hit the save point on the right side of the room.
- Descend the ramp near the save point when you're set, which takes you to Mineral Processing.
- A necromorph see you as you come through the door, but they don't attack yet, so be ready for them. Take the hall right and sooner or later, the monster will come after you.
- Text Log! After killing the necromorph, it's on the floor just ahead.
- Use the store and gather the ammo from the lockers before continuing. Keep your ammo supply high while you have the opportunity to refill it.
- A little further up is a hole where an asteroid bit came through the wall. Go past it to the bodies at the dead end just ahead for a small medpack. Then go through the hole.
- There are four hunks of rock floating in the room, and a big gravity beam running through the center. Obviously, don't touch the beam. Instead, use Kinesis to toss the boulders into the beam to clear them.
- You'll be attacked by three crawling necromorphs when you throw the first one in. Quickly Zero-G Jump clear of them and engage them on your terms.
- Throw another boulder in and you'll face a fetus monster. When it's dead, clear the other two boulders.
- TIP: Look around the room for lots of ammo and a few green crates to destroy. There's also a room that can be unlocked with a Power Node beside the console to shut down the gravity. Inside is a Ruby Semiconductor and lots of ammunition and health packs.
- Now that the boulders are gone, head over to the console to the right of the hole you entered from. When you hit the button, gravity will be restored and catwalks will be set up that ring the room. They also will allow necromorphs to attack you from the corners opposite you.
- Stasis is the key to this battle. Use it to control the speed at which enemies attack you.
- On the right you'll have standard necromorphs, with a yellow pod necromorph further back from the corner. On the left, you'll have a large bloated necromorph and a pod necromorph.
- Freeze the left set. Turn to the right and take out both these necromorphs with an effective weapon, like the Line Gun.
- Quickly turn back and use your Plasma Cutter or Pulse rifle to pop the yellow pod to blow up the necromorphs here. Unfortunately, that will cause the bloated one to leak goopy triangle guys at you.
- Another yellow pod will appear to the left, and more necromorphs to the right. Deal with whatever you can quickly. Try to explode the yellow pod to the left as it nears the triangle monsters to kill all at once.
- Now you're mopping up. At least one more yellow pod will appear, as well as one or two standard necromorphs. Finish them all quickly and collect the ammo they've dropped.
- Head to the corner opposite the console, which holds the control room. Enter it and grab the Mining Access Key off the ground, as well as the ammo from the footlockers. Exit through the door here.
- Power Node! On the wall right through the door out of the control room, to the right. It's inside a blue panel, as usual.
- This hall leads to the locked door near where you first entered Deck B. Go through, take a right when you can to the unlocked door and return to the elevator.
- Save. A crawling necromorph will drop down on you as you return to the lift. Backpedal and quickly kill it. Then take the elevator to Deck D.
- Deck D is in rough shape. Hurry down around the corner, but be prepared to back up. There are two of the zombifying necromorphs in this area, and they're about to start resurrecting corpses. Do your best to stop them.
- TIP: That pulsating ball in the corner near the necromorphs explodes if you shoot it.
- When you're clear, gather up the ammo in the area. Note that there's a Stasis Pack about midway up the shelf that's across from the door in the lower area of the room.
- Audio Log! Near the footlocker and the shelf, in the lower area of the room.
- Go through the door slowly and look left. There's a body attached to the wall. Kill it before you're close enough to risk it killing you.
- Save at the save point and head forward. Use Kinesis to draw the gondola to you, then board it and hit the button to go to the other side.
- On either side of the gondola track are little monsters that will sprout a single tentacle as you pass. These are the things those bloated, wall-hanging necromorphs spit out. Quickly shoot them as you pass (they're on both sides), or hit the exploding canisters nearby to kill them. Make sure not to blow yourself up.
- TIP: There's ammo on both sides of this room. Keep your eyes out for it and grab it with Kinesis when you can.
- Grab the ammo out of the lockers on the other side, the go through the door. Grab the explosive canister quickly, then face the other side of the chasm. Make sure you have at least a little Stasis at the ready.
- You'll need to kill the necromorphs that are attacking Nicole. At first they'll come slowly, so make your shots count and try to knock them down in just a few shots. Before long, you'll come under attack as well.
- You can survive a lot better than Nicole can, so make her the priority. Before long, the enemies will start to pile on her. Use your Stasis to keep yourself clear and to keep monsters off of her while you clear them out.
- TIP: When you're finished fighting the necromorphs, you can use Kinesis to gather the loot from the other side of the room.
- Go through the now-unlocked door when you're finished. Inside you'll find your beacon.
- Power Node! In the panel inside this room, to the right.
- Backtrack to the gondola. You'll face fetus monsters and those pods on either side again. Try to deal with them quickly, or they'll harass you the whole way.
- At the far end are two standard necromorphs. You can get a few shots on them as you approach.
- Save and continue to the elevator. As you go up the ramp into the raised area, be aware that that body ahead of you is actually a necromorph. Kill it or run into the elevator and take it up to Deck C.
- On C Deck, the visibility is next to zero. Step forward a little bit and a mess of necromorphs will attack you. These consist chiefly of fetus monsters and the top halves of standard necromorphs.
- Back up into the elevator and kill them as they approach you. When they're clear, take a look around. Your Guide Arrow directs you to the right, but for the moment, go left.
- Kill the necromorph that drops down in front of you in the left room, then head left of the doorway to find some loot and a Store. There's also a work bench here.
- Audio Log! On the table across from the Store.
- Head over by the work bench and take the power cell from the wall. You'll be attacked. Kill the necromorph and carry the cell with you. You're heading to the other side of the windy room to plug it in there.
- In the windy room are two yellow pod necromorphs. Blow them up when they're close together so you can keep going.
- Plug in the cell to activate the lift and take it down. At the bottom you'll find several lockers you'll need to empty. There's also a Gold Semiconductor at the corner ahead.
- Text Log! Near the Semiconductor, just ahead on the floor.
- Take the door into Mineral Processing. You'll enter a Zero-G area with a huge meteor being mined. Don't do anything just yet, as you're about to be attacked by two powered-up crawling enemies.
- Kill them both, then look for loot. There are some containers to be broken near the ceiling.
- Now you have to board the meteor and plant the beacon on it. Unfortunately, there are two large rings in the way. In addition, you need to cut the asteroid from the ship.
- Start by cutting the cables. Those are the blue wheels on the top and bottom of the room. Use Stasis to slow the wheels, then shoot at the glowing blue inside part to blow them.
- TIP: If you missed it, there's a Stasis charger back outside this room where you came in.
- Destroy the two tethers inside. You'll face some fetus necromorphs in the mean time.
- Now look at the asteroid. You need to get outside to destroy the other two gravity tethers. Wait for the rings to clear you a spot where you can run around the outside of the asteroid. When they move, jump to it and run outside. You'll now be in vacuum.
- There are two more tethers out here, and two more fetus necromorphs. Kill them and destroy the tethers.
- Now jump back on the asteroid and hit A To plant your beacon. Run back inside when the coast is clear of rings and jump back down to the floor. Exit the room.
- Charge your Stasis and head back to the lift. You'll run into half a necromorph on your way.
- Apparently cutting those tethers has set the deck above on fire. Grab the power cell from the wall and shoot it past the flames, then go when the coast is clear.
- In the center room, do the same. Head left to dodge the constant flame ahead of you when you first exit, then go right through the center of the room. Turn left, wait for the flame to die and run through.
- Grab the cell and plug it in to power up the elevator. Ride it to the top and open the door with the Mining Access Key.
- Power Node! Inside the control room, on the same wall as the door. It's easy to miss. Look just opposite the console and main window.
- Grab the stuff out of the lockers here before you push the button. The room will fill, again, with necromorphs. Kill them to escape.
- You should have full Stasis, so use it. A good way to handle these guys is to continually slap them down with the Force Gun. Coupled with Stasis, you should have all day to easily pick apart all four necromorphs.
- Leave and take the lift down. Visit the Store if you need to, save, and go back through the fire room. Remember to take the left pass and then cut back through the middle and to the door there.
- Get on the big cargo elevator and take it to Deck A. Get ready to fight a burned-looking strong necromorph, which drops down on you as the lift is rising.
- At the top, stay still on the lift and take shots at the crawling limbs that appear from either side of the room. Or you can just dash through to the door.
- Follow the hall to the tram station to end the chapter.
