Dead Space Extraction is a shooter developed by Electronic Arts for the Nintendo Wii. Set in the Dead Space universe, players take control of a new heroine and use the Wii Remote to blast aliens on screen. The game has the same "strategic dismemberment" style of the original where players must shoot off body parts to defeat enemies.
About the Game
In Dead Space Extraction, players take on the role of a woman who is part of a mining colony that has been infected with a mobile disease that turns people into zombie-like creatures.
Gameplay consists of on-rails lightgun-style shooting, where players are automatically guided from screen to screen where enemies appear that they must shoot at the screen to defeat. The game retains the core idea of Dead Space's combat, where you must aim at certain body parts like arms, feet and heads to take down enemies. The game will introduce one new weapon as well as new flying enemy, neither of which appeared in Dead Space. Extraction will feature both single-player and co-op multiplayer.
The developers are planning on continuing the mature horror sci-fi tone of the original game.IGN: First Dead Space Extraction Details (February 18, 2009)
