Dead Space: Downfall is an animated feature film that precedes the events of the video game, expanding upon the backstory as well as detailing the fate of the miners who live aboard the USG Ishimura, a large vessel that ventures out into space in order to destroy planets and harvest the remaining resources.
The movie largely deals with the plight of the ship's private security chief, Alessa Vincent, and her team of fellow officers, who attempt to re-establish order and stave off the invading necromorphs. The film will debut on Blu-Ray and DVD on October 28, 2008 with the former featuring exclusive content including an MP3 soundtrack and additional special features.
