The story was initially broken by Destructoid on September 4, 2008, and was later called into question by the writers at Game Politics who expressed disbelief that a country such as Japan would actively prohibit its release as it’s the birth place of the Resident Evil franchise and EA Games does not distribute their console games in that territory.
