Dead Rising is a 2006 action-adventure developed by Capcom Production Studio 1 that was initially only available for the Xbox 360.
In 2009 a version of Dead Rising was released for the Wii. The Wii version of the game is called Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop.Official Site: Dead Rising (Wii version)
Story
Dead Rising's premise is largely based on zombie films from the 60s and 70s, such as George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead. Frank West is a photojournalist covering the mysterious quarantine of the Colorado town of Willamette. Upon entering the town's mall, Frank discovers that it is completely overrun with zombies. Armed with only a camera (at first), Frank must then fight his way through the zombie horde, rescue any survivors and get to the bottom of the mysterious outbreak.Gameplay
Dead Rising is a third-person action-adventure game. You control Frank West, navigating him around the mall, killing zombies, rescuing survivors and gathering information. Nearly every item in the game, from shovels to coke cans, can be picked up and used as a weapon against the zombies. Additionally, over time Frank will learn stronger attacks, such as body-slams and suplexes. The game can be navigated in a very linear fashion, only completing the main story quests, or there are a number of side quests (presented as “scoops”), which award extra experience points when completed.-
