Dead or Alive 3 is a fighting video game developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo for the Xbox video game console. It was a launch title for the Xbox. It is the third game in the Dead or Alive series.

Though Dead or Alive 3 is a fighting video game with all the trimmings, one its most salient elements is the highly sexualized appearance of all of the female characters. Not content to simply put the ladies in skimpy costumes, the developers of DOA3 also modeled them all with abnormally large breasts. What's more, a great deal of time and attention was paid to the jiggle physics in the game's engine: whenever a female character moves, particularly in end-of-fight victory animations, their breasts jiggle quite a bit. This was likely done to appeal to the core 18-to-35 year old male audience, but it also drew criticism from many quarters. It proved a winning gambit, however, as the game series' focus on women's anatomy has become a hallmark of the franchise, and even spawned a beach volleyball game that is little more than an excuse to watch the carefully rendered jiggle animations.
