  • Created by Bryan Fuller for the Showtime network, Dead Like Me was a televised comedy-drama starring Ellen Muth and Mandy Patinkin as grim reapers collecting souls in Seattle, Washington. Fuller left the show after five episodes due to creative differences. Writers John Masius and Stephen Godchaux took over as executive producers.

While the show was canceled after two seasons, a direct-to-DVD movie has been filmed for release in the summer of 2008. If the DVD sales do well, the series could be put back into production. It currently airs in reruns on the SciFi Network.

  • Synopsis

The show's protagonist is Georgia "George" Lass, an emotionally distant 18-year old, who was unexpectedly killed by toilet seat from the de-orbiting Mir Space Station. Rather than moving to the "great beyond," George becomes a "grim reaper" along with a group of other undead reapers led by Rube. She must fill a quota of souls before her own soul can move on.
