de Blob is a 2008 action game, where the player takes on the role of "Blob", a strange creature that can absorb colors and transfer them onto any object he touches. The player must use Blob's powers to re-colorize a city that has been literally reduced to black and white by the evil INKT Corporation. Includes expansive free-roaming worlds and unlockable bonus levels. This guide will list the "challenges" available for each level as well as location of the hidden "Styles" collectibles.

Controls
- Nunchuk analog to move.
- Waggle the Wiimote to jump.
- Hold A to bring up a compass that tells you where objects are relative to Blob.
- Press A to interact with context actions such as Wind Cannons or starting challenges.
- Jump onto vertical surfaces to cling to them; you can then run along these surfaces.
- Press B to drop downward from a vertical surface or mid-air jump.
- Left or right on the d-pad to change the camera angle.
- Hold down on the d-pad to move to first-person view
- + Button to pause; check your level progress in the Progress Menu while paused.
- Hold Z to lock onto certain targets such as enemies, Paintbots, or Z-Pads.
- Swing the Wiimote while locked onto a target with the Z button to perform a jumping attack. This is usually Blob's only way to kill enemies; it also doubles as a method to cross wide gaps.
Concepts
Basics
- Your basic goal in each level into earn enough points to unlock Gates. The more points you get, the more Gates you unlock, with the final Gate being the level's exit.
- Blob earns points by defeating enemies, painting objects he touches, and rescuing Graydians. You will also often need to beat at least a few challenges to unlock access to new areas within a level.
- Blob can gain a color by touching a "Paintbot"; whatever color the Paintbot is will affect Blob's new color. It's only with a color that Blob can paint things.
- Paintbots come in Red, Blue, and Yellow. Touching them while Blob has no color will give him that color. If Blob is already Red, Blue, or Yellow when touching a Paintbot, he will transform into a secondary color such as Green (Blue + Yellow), Purple (Blue + Red), or Orange (Red + Yellow). If Blob adds all three primary colors together, he will be Brown instead, and will revert to a primary color the next time he touches a Paintbot.
- You can also rinse off Blob's current color by having him touch water. This can allow you to essentially remove Blob's color, and keep him from re-painting sections to don't want him to paint over.
- Paintbots also add Paint Points to Blob's meter. If it reverts to zero, Blob will lose his color. Killing enemies and defeating Landmarks require a set amount of Paint Points; painting objects also requires one Paint Point. Taking damage will drain your Paint Points and at zero points, Blob can be killed by any attack.
- Each level is timed, and you only have a certain amount of lives. If you are killed or urn out of time, you will lose a life (the timer will reset to 5 minutes remaining after the latter occurs). If you run out of lives, you will have to restart the entire level. Levels can take a ridiculous amount of time to complete, so play very carefully and make sure to beat the challenges, rescue Graydians, and kill enemies for time bonuses.
Objects and Features
- Green Clock: Collect these for a small time bonus. If you kill a group of enemies, they will sometimes drop a Green Clock.
- Gold Clock: Collect these for a medium time bonus. These are usually a reward for saving Graydians and completing challenges.
- Orange Clock: Collect these for a large time bonus. These are usually a reward for opening gates, as well as sometimes hidden in a level.
- Color Wheel: Gives you 1000 points.
- Style: Collect these to change the paint effects Blob creates when he paints.
- 1-Up: Collect these to get an extra life.
- Graydians: These will appear out of special doors after you paint all the structures and objects in their vicinity; touch them to save them. Saving all the Graydians that appear out of the door will grant you a Gold Clock. Sometimes Graydians will also be found wandering around out in the open.
- Gate Button: These will unlock after getting your score high enough. Hitting them will open a Gate and give you an Orange Clock, save for the last one which will simply open the exit.
- Green Challenges: These challenges usually require you to paint certain targeted objects within the time frame. It's possible to finish the requirements before starting the challenge, in which case you will automatically win the challenge after starting it.
- Blue Challenges: These challenges require you to follow a trail of road flares to its end before time runs out. They will often lead to unlocked challenges and your current goal, so do these first.
- Orange Challenges: These challenges require you to simply kill certain enemies. It's sometimes possible to kill your targets in advance of starting the challenge, which means you will automatically win the instant your start it.
- Brown Challenges: These are very important; they let you destroy a "Landmark", which will often cause very beneficial effects such as transforming Ink pools into water, or preventing enemies from respawning. Sometimes you need to do these to reach new areas.
- Transform Engines: These will transform an entire area into color, allowing you to hit several objects at once, some out of reach/unpaintable. They will unlock if you beat enough challenges.
- Paint Truck: Large fuel trucks carrying paint loads. Slam them three times for temporary invulnerability, as well as the ability to "auto-paint" (that is, automatically paint the correct color on a target that needs a specific color). Paint Trucks are useful for clearing out big groups of enemies or easily conquering a batch of challenges.
Enemies and Hazards
- Ink: Black goop that is dangerous to touch. If Blob has been "Inked", he will steadily lose Paint Points until he dies or until he rinses off in water. Any object touched by an Inked Blob will also lose its color. Most enemies also have the ability to Ink Blob with their attacks.
- Inkies: INKT cops that chase Blob around and attempt to hit him with their clubs, Inking him. They are easily killed with one Paint Point and a lock-on jump.
- Leechbots: Small droids that latch onto Blob and attempt to suck up his Paint Points. If one grabs you, you'll need to shake the Wiimote to get it loose. They are easily killed with a Paint Point and a lock-on jump.
- Heavy Inkies: Bulky Inkies armed with an "Inkthrower" that squirts clouds of Ink. Avoid attacking while they are spewing Ink around. Heavies are killed with ten Paint Points and a lock-on jump.
- Jetbike Inkies: Annoying enemies that speed off crazily into Blob; they also leave behind Leechbots to plague him. Bikers are usually produced from spawning points, so if an area has Bikers in it, you are best off finding the Landmark that is spawning them and destroying it asap. Bikers are killed with 5 Paint Points and a lock-on jump.
- Elite Inkies: These thugs wear colored armor. You can only kill an Elite while Blob has a matching color, otherwise they can't be damaged. They are killed with four Paint Points and a lock-on jump.
- Turrets: Dangerous guns that try to lock onto Blob before firing a volley of Ink shots. These shots can de-color objects they strike, so try to destroy these quickly before they ruin your work. If they are getting a lock on Blob, quickly hide to disrupt it. They are killed with 50 Paint Points and a lock-on jump.
- Tanks: Essentially mobile versions of the Turret. They require a whopping 100 Paint Points and a lock-on jump. You'll need to stock up on Paint Points before taking them on.
- Hot Plates: Hot burners that can usually be temporarily deactivated by stepping on a trigger button. If Blob touches these, you must shake the Wiimote to free him. Blob will also lose 30 seconds from the timer, "dropping" it in the form of a Green Clock. Quickly collect the Green Clock before it disappears to regain your lost time.
- Spikes: These will sap at Blob's Paint Points the longer you sit on them. They can usually be temporarily removed with a nearby trigger button.
- Electric Plates: Extremely dangerous traps that will cause Blob to lose one life, literally "dropping" it in the form of a 1-Up. Collect that 1-Up before it disappears or that life loss will be permanent. They can usually be temporarily shut down with a nearby trigger button.
Gold Medals
- If you can get enough Gold Medals on a level, you will get a Gold rank for the level itself. By getting Gold on a level, you will unlock bonus levels to play, which in turn will unlock extra content. Gold Medals are listed below.
- % Painted: Percent of the level that has been painted. You get gold at 75%.
- Time: Beat the level within the Gold Medal time limit
- Billboards: Find all the Billboards and paint them. They are usually on rooftops and building sides; you shouldn't miss them if you keep a good eye out.
- Trees: Find and paint all of the barren trees in a level. Like Billboards, you should be able to spot them if you look around closely, especially when near beaches.
- Transform Engines: Find all the Transform Engines in a level. They are always lying in the open; you need simply to unlock them first.
- Graydians: Find and rescue all the Graydians in a level. As long as you paint every structure and major object, you should find them.
- Styles: Find all the Styles in a level. These are actually usually well hidden, so look carefully as you play.
- Blimp: Each level has a Blimp flying around; just paint it once to get a Gold Medal for this. You need the Blimp to fly low enough to reach it; its flight pattern never changes, so just stalk it and look for a point where it flies low enough for you to reach.
- Challenges: Find and beat all the challenges in a level.
- Landmarks: Find and destroy/transform all Landmarks in a level.

Last Resort
- Target the Paintbots with Z and swing the Wiimote to slam them. This will give you a color.
- Start rolling over structures and other objects to paint them. Paint enough and a Transform Machine will appear. Slam it to fully color-ize this area and move to the next.
- Jump over the gap in the pier and head to the first challenge. Simply paint the nearby building to complete it. Make sure to save the Graydians.
- The next challenge is on the other end of this beach city. For this challenge, simply slam into a Red Paintbot, then a Yellow Paintbot to become orange. Paint the building orange.
- Clean up the area, then get the Transform Machine. Pound the Gate Switch to open the path to the next area.
- There are plenty of challenges here. The first two require that you use the smaller buildings to climb onto the rooftops of the taller buildings next to them.
- The next one requires that you paint a building yellow and green. It's best to start this challenge in a yellow color, then grab a Blue Paintbot to turn green.
- The last one requires you to take out a Landmark (the INKT satellite dish). You need to be Red and have 30 Paint Points.
- Head into the next area. Watch out for Ink Puddles. If you fall in one, find water quick and rinse it off. If you are desperate, you can slam a fire hydrant for some water.
- The challenges here are still mostly simple. One will have you painting all the buildings on the street purple; take advantage of Blob's ability to roll along walls to skim along the sides of the buildings, avoiding the water puddles.
- Another requires you to paint more buildings brown; make a brown color by combining red, yellow, and blue.
- The final challenge requires you to paint a row of buildings green on a street filled with Ink Sludge. Make sure to use the fire hydrants to wash the gunk on you if you land in Ink.
- The last area leads to the final challenge, which will require you to destroy a Landmark with 50 yellow paint points. The Exit Pool will be nearby.
Bonus Levels
- Seaside Roller: You will get a gold for painting all the buildings the correct color, then escaping into the Exit Pool before time runs out. Use the water to rinse yourself off if you have to switch colors. Don't forget the green buildings on the island; head to them asap if you accidentally change to green and haven't painted them yet.
- Top of the World: Get the Yellow Paintbot and follow the yellow-target buildings upward. Grab the Red Paintbot as soon as you can to get orange, then leap carefully on the orange-target buildings. You should have orange and yellow requirements complete by the next section, where you will do the same careful leaping for red and purple-target buildings.
Styles
- Style #1: Jump to the rock island in the ocean near where you start.
- Style #2, #3: On top of the structures near where you start.
- Style #4: On a rooftop on the buildings in the area furthest from where you enter.
- Style #5: In the city area, on the rooftops of one of the pair of buildings connecting by a walkway. Try to leap to it from one of the higher structures a block over.
- Style #6: Near where the Transform Engine by the Landmark spawns.
- Style #7: After defeating the first Landmark and crossing into the next city, look for this behind the Ink Puddle to your left.
- Style #8: In plain sight past #7, on a small building to the left of the road.
- Style #9: In the low-end buildings in the middle of the left-most city block you must paint brown for one of the challenges.
- Style #10: On a rooftop of a building above #9.
- Style #11: Opposite of #9; in the low-end buildings in the middle of the right-most city block you must paint brown.
- Style #12: On the docks to the right of the Exit Pool.
Uptown
- Paint everything in sight around the bay. The challenge here will be simply to paint the ships blue. You will also be introduced to actual enemies, called "Inkies"; just take them out with a Slam attack, just as you do with the Paintbots.
- Head up to the city area. The first challenge you see just asks you to follow the road flares to the goal before time runs out. Make sure to touch them all, in succession.
- Near the INKT Tax Office is a challenge; you will need to transform the Tax Office with 50 purple points. Remember that purple = red + blue.
- Nearby the INKT Tax Office challenge is another to paint the city block red. Do so.
- Also close by the INKT Tax Office challenge is another one to paint two city blocks, one blue, one purple. Start with the blue one, then jump from the blue buildings onto the building with the Red Paintbot. Carefully climb the purple-targeted buildings to the top.
- Completing the challenges and getting the Transform Engine in the central fountain will unlock new challenges. One of the will require you transform the Propoganda Tower (the sterile radio tower that can't be painted normally) with 30 blue points. Rinse off with the fountain if you need to change colors quickly.
- Next, another challenge to transform the Bank of INKT. Transform it with 50 red points.
- Nearby these will be two more challenges. These require you to paint one block yellow and two blocks green. For the green blocks, use the roofs of the left-hand city block to jump over to the right-hand block.
- When ready, go up the freeway to the next section. The challenge on the bridge will show you how to use "Z-Points" to jump up to new areas. Do so.
- The challenge at the end of the bridge will require you to use the nearby Z-Points to reach three Billboards. This will unlock a series of racing challenges on the bridge.
- The racing challenges require you to follow the road flares. Note that on the second race, the trail of road flares will suddenly stop; you must use the nearby Z-Point where the trail stopped to follow the series of Z-Points, collecting the rest of the flares.
- Slam all the Transform Engines you can find, thn seek out the rest of the challenges in the city streets below. The green challenges are mostly simple; either paint the buildings facing the city park yellow, or paint the nearby blocks green.
- The yellow challenges need you to transform many Landmarks, including the INKT Police Station and the INKT Stock Exchange. Just get enough points of the appropiate color; the Police Station will have Inkies attacking you, so kill them off first.
- Eventually you will be able to enter an enclosed area with a Big Propoganda Tower. First, watch out for "Leechbots". These are small spider-like droids that will stick to Blob and steal paint points; shake them off with the Wiimote if this happens. They are otherwise vulnerable to Slams like the Inkies and Paintbots area.
- To transform the Big Propoganda Tower, you must use three different colors on it's three different weak points. They give you plenty of time to do this. Otherwise, the Exit Pool will be nearby the tower.
Bonus Levels
- Ship to Ship: Pretty simple; leap from ship to ship, painting them. The ships are defended by enemies but are no match for Blob's slam attacks.
- Leaps of Faith: You have only a minute to race along the course, painting at least 50 of the buildings. After the first Red Paintbot, you should see a lone pair of skyscrapers in the distance; make sure to leap into them, roll along the sides, then jump towards the Blue Paintbot further ahead. After this, race to the end, making sure to get as many buildings as you can; you can afford to skip a few.
Styles
- Style #1: Right next to the first road flare race challenge.
- Style #2: Climb up the buildings in front of the fountain in the city area where the Color Wheel is. Jump across the street to the buildings on the other side where the Style is.
- Style #3: Near the INKT Tax Office challenge
- Style #4: Atop the higher buildings where you perform the blue-and-purple building challenge.
- Style #5: On the tallest building overlooking the city park.
- Style #6: Can't miss as you complete the "three billboard" challenge.
- Style #7, #8: Can't miss as you complete the "under the bridge" race challenge.
- Style #9: Use the Z-Point on the other side of the bridge to follow a chain of Z-Points, grabbing this along the way.
- Style #10: From the catwalks you climb to perform the "three billboards" challenge, follow the catwalks to the right, then leap from rooftop to rooftop, making your way to the center of the city density until you spot this.
- Style #11: At the end of the freeway as it dips down is a city block with this Style on it.
- Style #12: On top of one of the smaller buildings between the park underneath the bridge and the enclosed area where Big Propoganda Tower is.
- Style #13: Lying by the sidewalk wall overlooking the ocean, away from the park underneath the bridge.
Downtown
- Plenty to paint as you move down the freeway. The blue challenge will ask you to race from the challenge to the water pool halfway down the freeway.
- Near where the blue challenge ends are some catwalks on the right-hand side of the freeway that leads to the elevated trains and a green challenge. It asks you to paint three billboards high above the freeway. Hop onto the elevated trains using the "Z-pads" painted on them by targeting the pads (like a Paintbot) and slamming into them. This will allow Blob to ride the trains; jump onto the passing billboards, then slam back onto the Z-Pads on the trains before you fall.
- At the end of the freeway is a road leading into the slums. Heavy Inkies, tough guys wielding "ink-throwers", are guarding the slums. To kill them, you must wait for their ink-throwers to run out, then slam them. Note that it costs you 10 paint points every time you slam one.
- The green challenge in the slums asks you to paint them yellow. The blue one however introduces you to "hot plates", traps you must temporarily deactivate by slamming a skull button in order to cross safely. If you are hit by a hot plate, you will lose 30 seconds off the timer (literally dropping it as a "green clock") and become stunned; shake the Wiimote to recover from the stunning effect, and collect your dropped 30 seconds before you lose it completely.
- There is also a green challenge in the area with the orange Gate button. Use it to unlock an orange challenge. Both are simple to complete.
- Open the Gate into the next area. Use the blue challenge to make your way to the orange challenge. The orange challenge will ask you to kill a bunch of INKT cops. This will unlock some more challenges, including a green challenge near the first Gate that wants you to paint the buildings with the hot plates on them orange (just paint the sides).
- Near the canal are more challenges, most of them two-star. The blue one wants you to climb onto the roofs overlooking the canal and follow the flares to the end, while the green one wants to to paint the sides of the same buildings either yellow or purple. Try to paint them all either yellow or purple before starting this challenge to save yourself some aggravation.
- Climb the buildings nearby with the next green challenge. This one asks you to use the nearby Z-Point to jump to a Billboard. There's another one to paint around the corner; roll across the side of the building to the ledge with the Color Wheel, where the Billboard.
- Nearby the previous challenge is a blue challenge that will see you racing flares to an orange challenge. The orange challenge will ask you to kill some INKT cops, after which two more challenges, a green and a brown one, will unlock in the central park area.
- The brown one will ask you to transform the three Landmarks ringing the park, two with 50 yellow paint points and one with 30. Bulk up your paint points, then use the fire hydrant to rinse off and grab a Yellow Paintbot. Go after the INKT Police Station Landmark first as the cops it produces will otherwise get in your way.
- Near the brown challenge that asks you to take out three Landmarks are a blue and green challenge. The blue one will have you race past the lower buildings with the hot plates (the ones you painted orange for the unlockable green challenge). This will be very easy if you already grabbed the Transform Engine in the central park; this will unlock another simple green challenge for you to complete.
- The other green challenge in the central park is actually a three-star challenge. You must paint the four groups of high-rises overlooking the park a different color. Make sure to fully canvas each group of high-rises so that you don't accidently miss one.
- There are two more challenges near the second Gate button; one is an orange challenge that asks you to kill the Heavy Inkies, the other is a green challenge that wants this whole area colored red. The buildings here are "multi-layered", meaning that simply touching them is not enough; you must make an extra jump to reach the upper levels.
- In the third section, there's plenty of Ink Puddles to dodge, so watch out. Use the green challenge to save all the Graydians. This will unlock a second green challenge to complete.
- Go up the ramp out of the shantytowns. There's another green challenge here, a three-star one. You must travel through the passage of hot plates while blue; just tread carefully as hitting a hot plate here can be disastrous. You'll free up plenty of Graydians along the way (they will be located on balconies below).
- Go past the previous green challenge. Ahead will be a blue challenge; use it to navigate past groups of hot plates to an area with Heavy Inkies. Complete the brown challenge here (use 50 paint points to take out the Landmark) and the third section will be thankfully clear of Ink Puddles.
- This will also unlock two challenges. The green one asks you to paint the trees in the now-drained Ink reservoir. Carefully hop over the rivers of water to reach each one.
- Nearby the brown challenge is another green challenge that will ask you to paint the nearby double-tiered buildings green and purple. Do the green ones first, then paint the purples from the rear area, away from the green ones.
- Start the blue challenge and use the Z-Point at the bottom of the drain resevoir to follow a chain of points to the final area. Quickly find the nearby brown challenge and take out the Landmark to stop the flow of Inkies.
- Nearby is another blue challenge; use it to reach an orange challenge. Kill the cops it asks you to unlock two green challenges.
- The two green challenges require some careful painting. For the green and blue buildings, start with the green-target buildings first, then paint the sides of the blues. For the red and yellow-target buildings, use the Graydians you free to boost your time. You can paint EVERY building here, even the ones with obstructive Billboards on them, by poking at the corners.
- Find the last blue challenge, follow it to an orange challenge, and complete that to unlock a brown challenge. The goal is to shut down the hot plates and follow the ramp up to three weakpoints for you to transform. Head upward to the middle weakpoint as a yellow Blob and take it out. Collect the Paintbots as you go further up; the two Red Paintbots at the peak will reset your color to red so you can take out the red weakpoint. Finally, drop down and use the Blue Paintbots wandering around the base to take out the blue weakpoint.
Bonus Levels
- Sizzle Race: There is no "painting objective" for this one. Just follow the trail of road flares to the end; do it in roughly less than a minute or so for the gold. You can get through the hot plates quickly by chaining lock-on jumps on the Paintbots.
- Lost Freeway: You have to make your way through a freeway of cars to a city center without touching anything "paintable" except the target buildings (if you want a gold, that is). Skip the intro text as soon as it appears and race down the freeway, collecting the road flares; the cars should be easy to dodge if you do this. The final flare will open the door to the city center. Paint the target buildings on the outer rim first; best to go against the traffic so you can see them coming from the front.
Styles
- Style #1: Ride the trains next to the first green challenge to the end of the line.
- Style #2: In plain sight inside the slum area.
- Style #3: On pipework overlooking the button that opens the first Gate.
- Style #4: Near the two-star orange challenge past the first Gate (the one where you kill a group of INKT cops) are small buildings leading up to a row of hot plates, with the Style past them.
- Style #5: There's a Z-Point on top of the buildings with the hot plates that you paint orange for the unlockable green challenge near the first Gate. Use it and ride the Z-Points to the end, then climb onto the roofs of the buildings that ring the perimeter of this area and follow them to the Style.
- Style #6: Sitting on top of the same Z-Point you use to reach the two Billboards.
- Style #7: In plain sight from where you enter past the second Gate.
- Style #8: To the side of the ramp leading out of the shantytown area immediately past the second Gate.
- Style #9: Can't miss this one on your way to completing the three-star green challenge past the second ramp near where #8 is found.
- Style #10: In the area with the blue challenge race past the three-star green challenge that leads to #9.
- Style #11: After draining out the Ink resevoir, use the Z-Point at the bottom to leap to the second Z-Point in a chain of them. Allow Blob to fall instead of continuing along the chain and he'll land on this Style.
- Style #12, #13: Both are pretty much lying in plain sight next to the various challenges in the final area.
Chroma Dam
- The first major goal is to rescue one of the captured revolutionaries. Head up to the first blue challenge and accept it; follow the flares to the end, jumping the gap to the get the last pair.
- Next, do the brown challenge nearby, taking out the propoganda tower with 30 blue points. Another brown challenge will unlock.
- Do the new brown challenge to break into a jail; you need 100 points of any color to take it down. Just grab the Blue Paintbots and stock up until you are ready.
- Taking out the Jail brings a non-stop horde of Inkies and a new brown challenge by the hot plates. Now you must take out the police station to end the horde; watch out for the enemies.
- Another brown challenge will appear; start it to break down another Jail, using 100 Paint Points of any color (remember, they don't all have to be the same color). This unlocks an orange challenge, approach it to be warned about a new enemy.
- Exit through the open fence and go around the block to the first green challenge by the entrance to this area. Paint the target buildings in order of yellow, green, then blue.
- Go to the first Gate. Next to it will be a brown challenge that wants you to take out the INKT Courthouse using 50 Red Paint Points; do so.
- Go through the first gate and follow the linear path, painting away, across the bridge.
- You'll find a brown challenge on the other end. It will ask you to take out the Raydian Reeducation Center (100 Yellow Paint Points!) and a Propaganda Tower. The Big Paintbots will help you stock up on the colors you need.
- Follow the street up the hill to the orange challenge; it will trigger a fight with an Ink Tank. Just stay on the move and build up 100 Paint Points, then smash it.
- Perform the green challenge where the Ink Tank was (paint all the skyscrapers orange) and the next one that appears (paint all the lower buildings purple; watch for the ones in the corners). A blue challenge will unlock.
- Use the blue challenge to follow road flares up the catwalks to a series of Z-Points leading to the catwalks atop. Follow those catwalks to a green challenge.
- The green challenge here is easy; beat it to unlock two more and a brown challenge below. These new green challenges are also easy.
- The brown challenge at the bottom unlocks an Wind Cannon you can use to throw yourself over the wall to the second Gate. Open it and head on through.
- Start the brown challenge on the other side of the Gate to take out the Ink Tank Depot (you may want to destroy the Ink Tank guarding it first). This will unlock a green and blue challenge.
- The green challenge is simple (start with the blue target buildings first), and the blue challenge will unlock a trigger button that will move the boats in the harbor, allowing you to cross the lake of ink using the tugboats to the other side.
- On the other side, complete the brown challenge, taking out a jail (watch for Leechbots). Now a blue challenge appears back on the other side.
- Go back across and use the blue challenge to climb the nearby buildings to a Wind Cannon. Launch off with it and use the second one you find to get launched further.
- The last Wind Cannon lands you in an area with silos. Use the Z-Points to climb out to the catwalk overlooking the final area. Watch out for the smoking pistons; avoid them when they are fuming or they will knock you off the catwalk.
- Land on the big dam area. First, do the green challenge by the brown one; just paint the machines green and the pipes connecting them blue.
- Next, do the blue challenge. Just chain-jump across the Z-Pads to the end. Another one will appear; do the same, and you'll unlock a green challenge.
- The green challenge will want you to paint all the silos in the area green. The best bet is to immediately use the pontoons near the challenge to go to the right till they end in a dam wall that has an Wind Cannon here. Launch up and use the Z-Point where you first dropped into the dam area and have it send you into many silos. Finish up the rest of them from there.
- Now do the brown challenge by the dam (this will be the last one). First, just make your way up the dam carefully, watching out for the pistons. Atop, a huge force of Inkies will appear. Kill them and grab the Paintbots to build up Paint Points to take out the three dam generators. Every time you damage one, a mob of Leechbots and Heavy Inkies will attack, so make sure you have enough to kill a generator each time.
Bonus Levels
- INKT Academy: Pretty simple; kill all 100 enemies. Get all 100 before time runs out and you get the gold. Make sure to thin out the Inkies before going after the Heavies, because you can easily run out of color trying to take them out, leaving you vulnerable to crowds.
- Crane Fighting: You need to kill all the Heavy Inkies on top of the cranes; kill them all before time runs out for a gold. You basically need to kill each one quickly, before they can start up their Inkthrowers and fight back; waiting for them to stop shooting will take too long. Obviously you cannot fall down off the cranes, either. When you reach the pair of cranes closest to the exit portal, go to the right instead (using the lock-on on the Blue Paintbots in mid-jump to cross the gap) and kill the big groups of Heavies over there first, then return to those last pair of cranes and finish off the last couple Heavies.
Styles
- Style #1: Next to the first blue challenge.
- Style #2: Inside the first Jail you break open.
- Style #3: From the first police station you destroy, face it, then go left over the fence towards where the first green challenge is. It will be lying right there.
- Style #4: Just a few buildings further past Style #3.
- Style #5: After passing through the first Gate, climb up the buildings in the center before the first turn; it's by the hot plate.
- Style #6: In plain sight on the bridge over the ink past the first gate; watch for Inkies.
- Style #7: On the buildings across from the Raydian Reeducation Center.
- Style #8: In the area with the first Ink Tank, find the metal catwalks leading up to a Z-Point and follow the chain up to the catwalks above. Follow these catwalks to the Style (you can unlock a blue challenge to show you the way up there).
- Style #9: It's above the Graydian Door on the buildings where the Ink Tank Depot is. Further above the Style is an Wind Cannon.
- Style #10: First, cross the lake of ink using the tugboats to get to the brown challenge. It should be within view of the brown challenge, on the nearby shore.
- Style #11: Use the Wind Cannon near the Ink Tank Depot to get launched to an area with silos. Use the Z-Points here to follow a chain of them; drop down on the third one to collect a style.
- Style #12: From Style #11, use the Z-Points to continue following the chain straight to it.
- Style #13: From Style #12, jump over the rail to the right of where Style #12 was down to Style #13, located below.
Guggentraz Island
- Paint up the area you start in, then approach the blue challenge. Follow the trail of flares into the main area and your first orange challenge. Watch for spikes as they will chip away at Blob's health if you touch them (they can be retracted using nearby trigger buttons).
- The orange challenge here will ask you to take out some INKT cops. Kill them to unlock a green challenge.
- The green challenge will activate a Wind Cannon. Use it to fly up to the top of some skyscrapers; paint everything up there yellow for an easy gold and a slew of challenges unlocked, including two green and a brown in the park below, and another brown right next to you. You'll also trigger INKT Bikers, annoying enemies that will ram you and drop Leechbots to get in your way.
- Do the brown challenge next to you first. It will ask you to take out a Landmark ahead using 50 Blue Points, stopping the flow of Bikers and unlocking yet another green challenge. Head to it by hitting the trigger button to activate the L-trains, then riding one to the Landmark. Completing this one will also unlock a simple green challenge nearby.
- Head to the park and complete the green challenges there. They are both easy (for the one with the three colors, make sure to paint the targets in order of red, purple, blue).
- Do the brown challenge in the park to activate another Wind Cannon. You'll be launched up to another set of skyscrapers. Follow the path up there to the tallest building to jump down to the weakpoint of the Landmark. Take it out with 50 Purple Points and the canal will flood, also allowing you to take on an easy blue challenge.
- Head to the Gate. There is a brown challenge next to it; it will allow you to take out the INKT Censor Landmark, which unlocks another brown challenge nearby where you can take out a propoganda tower.
- Past the Gate you will encounter your first INKT Turret. Just dodge the shots and slam it with twenty Paint Points. A green challenge will appear.
- Do the green challenge; it will ask you to follow the Z-Points up to another train stop, where you can hit a trigger switch to start the trains here and unlock another simple green challenge nearby.
- Ahead are two more Turrets, with a Paint Truck in front of them. Stomp on the Paint Truck till in grants you invincibility, then use it to wipe out the Turrets with ease.
- Start with the green challenge to the right of where the turrets where. Simply paint the sides of the building purple. This will start another nearby green challenge where you do the same for another block of buildings (blue this time).
- Another green challenge will unlock. This one just wants you to make a big leap using the roofs near it to the monotrail station, painting it blue. There's also one last easy green challenge in this area; get it before leaving through the second Gate.
- In the third area, do the blue challenge first and race through the streets, avoiding the enemies. The path will eventually lead a brown challenge that will let you take out the Landmark that is producing those annoying Bikers and unlock a new green challenge.
- Take on the new green challenge to activate two Wind Cannons in the park here. Both will launch you to monorail stations you must paint red. One of them will require a difficult jump to reach; the other a trigger button that will activate trains for you to ride to Guggentraz Island (the Resistence Members will inform you when you find it). Remember that location (a new green challenge will appear here).
- Drop back down to take on a brown challenge. Use the Wind Cannon to get launched to the other monorail station you painted red (the one that has no green challenge/trigger button next to it). Ride the monorail to the Landmark and take it out.
- A blue challenge will appear, take it out as well. This unlocks another brown challenge that lets you defeat an INKT Security Center.
- Return to the spot where you found the monorail that leads to Guggentraz Island. Take on the green challenge and ride it all the way across the ocean to the island ahead. Rescue all the Graydians there to win the challenge.
- You can exit the level here, or you can do two more challenges. One is a brown one that sees you using the nearby Wind Cannon to launch to the roof of the prison to take out three weakpoints. A blue one will appear after that; you can only beat this one if you activated all the monorail stations. If you did, simply ride your train across the island, collecting all the flares along the way. At each stop, jump onto the station, then roll onto the train as it comes back out.
Bonus Levels
- Jetbike Blitz: Very easy. Just haul through the course, collecting flares and avoiding the Bikers. You can juke most of them simply by running up the middle of the street. Even if a couple hit you, just keep speeding forward, rinsing off in water if you can, and you'll probably still get gold.
- Trainspotting: This one can be tough. You must follow the trains along the path, painting every single target building blue within the time limit if you want gold. Falling down will cost you a lot of time trying to climb back up, so for the target buildings with no ledges to cling to, you must hit them then bounce onto them, then lock-on jump back onto a train. Later on it gets easier as you can simply use the Paintbots to jump from building to building. The final area also gives you the last seven targets as a freebie.
Styles
- Style #1: On the set of buildings overlooking the canal you follow via the first blue challenge. They are overlooking the section of canal with the spikes at the bottom.
- Style #2, #3, #4: After starting the first green challenge, a Wind Cannon is activated that allows Blob to be launched into a skyscraper cluster where you must paint them yellow. Three Styles are around here within plain sight, just climb the rooftops around here to reach them.
- Style #5: In the park in the first area, you use a Wind Cannon from a brown challenge to launch up to a catwalk to a path towards a Landmark. Once you land on the catwalk, look around for the style, on a roof just below you.
- Style #6: Face the propoganda tower you take out to the left of the first Gate, then turn around towards the buildings behind you. You should see it on the ground, on the other side of the canal, in a little nook.
- Style #7: On the buildings to the right of the pair of Turrets parked behind the Paint Truck.
- Style #8: On the buildings to the right of the second Gate (still within the second area). Just follow the buildings to the right of the green challenge where you paint the monorail station blue.
- Style #9: Next to the brown challenge that lets you take out the second INKT Police Station Landmark that produces Bikers and is guarded by two Heavies.
- Style #10: Right next to one of the monorail stations you paint red for the green challenge in the park in the third area. It's the monorail station that does NOT have a trigger button next to it.
- Style #11: The third area has a side street on the other side of the canal loaded with spikes. One of the Styles is behind a four-tile long row of spikes that randomly retract/extend.
- Style #12: Search the rooftops near the Turrets in the third area; one will have the Style.
- Style #13: In the same general area with the spikes as Style #10. On a rooftop on the opposite end of the road's end from Style #10, past a gantlet of spikes.
The Docklands
- The orange challenge at the start introduces you to Elite Inkies. These foes can only be killed by slamming them with a color that matches their outfit. These Elites are Red, in fact, so stock up on red color points and kill them while in a Red color.
- Make your way below and kill the Red Elites, then go right and take on the green challenge. Paint the silos yellow; you'll need to use the nearby ledges to reach the spire atop the tallest one.
- Go onwards for two more green challenges. One requires you simply paint the containers orange, the other requires you to use the Z-Point to jump up onto the cranes above the boat, painting them green. The Resistance will warn you about electric plates below that will cause Blob to drop a 1-Up if he hits one, so if you drop down, make sure to hit the trigger button to shut them down. If you are ever hit by these traps, quickly collect your 1-Up before losing it or it will be gone for good and count against Blob's remaining lives.
- The brown challenge requires you get back on the cranes again, then leap to the bridge to take out the weakpoint using 50 yellow paint points. This will take care of the boat; green challenges will also unlock.
- Start with the green challenge right next to you, on the bridge. Just paint all the boxes on the ship yellow. Then go down and do the other one; paint all the buildings on both sides of the boat. Now head through the first Gate.
- Ignore the enemies in this area as they will just keep coming until you defeat the Police Station Landmark. Go right from the Gate and get ready for a tough green challenge: you must paint all the crate stacks here the correct color. Start with the ones furthest back first, and try to plan it so that you can use the Paintbots wandering around the crates to switch to the color you need quickly.
- Go to the left of the Gate now and start the blue challenge; follow the road flares to the end, using the Z-Point when the trail goes cold to jump to the cranes overlooking the bay.
- Go back to the dock past the first Gate and find the blue challenge; make sure you have 100 Red Paint Points before starting it. Begin and follow the trail of flares to the bridge of the ship at port.
- Now a brown challenge is unlocked. This requires you to take out the bridge's weakpoint with 50 Red Paint Points. If you have the wrong color and are low on Paint Points, you'll need to quickly run off the ship, hit as may Red Paintbots as possible, then return and hit that weakpoint. Another brown challenge will unlock.
- Do the brown challenge after rounding up 60+ Orange Paint Points, then follow the train of Z-Points to the end and take out the weakpoint. A green challenge will appear.
- This tough green challenge needs you to paint all the boxes on the deck of this ship orange. However, you will have just spent all your points already on the weakpoint, you only have yellow and red to work with, you can't leave the ship at all, and there is a pesky Turret defending the ship. First, build up enough paint points to destroy the turret. Now save the two silos with the red and yellow Paintbots for last as you scrouge up enough orange to paint everything else.
- Go find the green challenge nearby the ship and take it on. You are asked to paint all the silos here blue; don't worry about falling down as you can often climb up nearby piping to get back up. Ignore the Elites in your way.
- Winning this green challenge unlocks a brown challenge. Find it asap as you can now destroy the Police Station Landmark to end the flow of baddies in this area.
- A blue and brown challenge will unlock. Start the blue one to find the brown challenge. You need to hit the first trigger button you see to turn off the first rows of electric plates, then for the second, hit the trigger button on the silo to the right of it.
- The brown challenge just wants you to break down the INKT Immigration Station. Kill the Green Elites and just use 100 Paint Points to wreck it.
- Another brown challenge will appear. Kill the Green Elites guarding the Lighthouse Landmark and take it out. Don't forget to save the Graydians on the boats.
- Make your way back to the silos that you painted blue. Two more brown challenges will be here; take out the Landmarks to make the bay safe to swim in.
- There should be one green challenge left, on the other side of the fencing where you destroyed the Lighthouse; simply jump on the crates with the correct color. Now head through the second Gate.
- Go right from where you enter and find the pair of green challenges. Do the one furthest from you first; turn green and paint the silo. While you are up there, kill the Heavies and the Turret guarding the exit.
- Go back down and do the other green challenge; this will ask you to paint crates similar to the last green challenge you did in the last area, except that Elites will interfere and the Turret from above will attack you, de-colorizing your work, unless you killed it first.
- Continue past this area to a brown challenge. Start it to defeat a pumping station that will free the canal waters of ink.
- Move onward down along the canals to another brown challenge. Stock up on 80 Blue Paint Points, slip past the Elites and take out the Watchtower Landmark.
- Continue down the way; there will be a green challenge here that asks you to go back and paint all the silos orange; you'll need to climb the lowest one and scale your way up the pipes to the top.
- Next, return to where you found the green challenge and look for a brown one on the building with the 1-Up. Do this simple challenge to purify the canal waters in this section of this area.
- Finally, head up the freeway to the cliff above, taking out the Purple and Blue Elites along with anyone still alive guarding the third Gate.
- In the next area, the Tank Depot, you'll need to stock up on 100 Paint Points, then go to the left and start the orange challenge. Kill the first Tank, then retreat and stock up on enough paint to take the second.
- A brown challenge will unlock; simply take out the Tank Depot itself with 100 Paint Points for an easy win.
- Find the blue challenge and follow it up to the top of the buildings to unlock a difficult green challenge. For the two city blocks, start off purple and paint the purple target buildings, then finish the ones on the ground with red/blue. Look out for Elites; you may want to kill them first before starting.
- Head through the nearby Gate into the final area and start the last brown challenge. Stock up on 50 Red Paint Points and fire Blob through the Wind Cannon into the red weakpoint to take it out. Hit the trigger button to turn off the electric plates and use the Z-Points to climb up to the yellow and orange weakpoints (for the yellow one, drop down after reaching the third Z-Pad).
- Once you are finished, you can take the level exit here. There will also be a Wind Cannon below in case you drop down and need a shortcut back up.
Bonus Levels
- Miles O' Silos: Not as hard as it looks, but you must not make a mistake. Get the red Paintbot and climb down the red target silo "steps". At the bottom, lock-on leap onto the blue Paintbot to go purple and simply roll to the right, painting silos. Once you reach the blue target silos, drop down and get the blue Paintbot, then climb up and finish up the blue targets. Get the yellow Paintbot to go green and hit all the green targets, then lock-on jump onto the yellow Paintbot nearby to finish all the yellow targets. Again, lock-on jump onto the red Paintbot in the next area and finish all the orange targets. Finally, lock-on to the last red Paintbot and hop along the three red target silos to the exit.
- Forgotten Forest: Simply paint all the trees before time runs out if you want a gold. By the end of the first section, you should have 38 trees remaining; by the second, 21 trees. In the final section, the trees tend to camouflage well with the surroundings, so keep an eye out and count out the trees as you find them. At the fork, go up and clean out the trees behind the big rock before doubling back (if you haven't missed a tree so far you should get the Silver Medal here).
Styles
- Style #1, #2, #3: Each of the three big Landmark Ships have a square hole in the deck beneath the weakpoint. Drop down these holes to find a bunch of Graydians and a Style inside the hull of each ship. To exit, head to the other side of where you dropped down to roll back out.
- Style #4: From the start, drop down to the ledge overlooking the Red Elites, then go left onto the roof of the shed here, then get on the crates and take the nearby Style.
- Style #5: Start the blue challenge after the first Gate and follow the road flares to the lone plateau and the Transform Engine. The Style is right here, on a ledge wedged against the plateau and the main rock.
- Style #6: In the second area, one of the Landmarks you must wreck during a brown challenge is guarded by Blue Elites on a pipe bridge leading to the weakpoint. Behind this Landmark is the Style.
- Style #7: In the second area, follow the cargo conveyor system high above you to where it ends into the mountain side. It's behind the crates you find there.
- Style #8: Lying in between the big stacks of crates you must paint green, yellow, and blue for one of the green challenges in the third area (these crates are guarded by Elites and a Turret from the freeway above).
- Style #9: On a bridge in plain sight in the third area.
- Style #10: In the third area, on the other side of the canal closest to the edge of the map, where the billboards area.
- Style #11: On a building in the center of the third area protected by electric plates slapped on the sides of the building. Carefully jump your way up the roofs to the top.
- Style #12: In the third area, right next to the brown challenge on the building that asks you to take out a pumping station.
- Style #13: In the Tank Depot area, simply do the blue challenge there and you should find it at the end.
Hanging Gardens
- This area is covered in a sea of ink. Hop carefully from the start over to the green challenge. Simply paint the docks here green. A brown and orange challenge will unlock.
- Do the brown challenge first and use the Z-Point after collect 50 green Paint Points to fling Blob to the water pump. Now the water is ink-free and safe to swim in. Two blue challenges will appear as well.
- Before taking on the blue challenges, find the orange challenge you had skipped. Follow the trail of Heavies to the Orange Elites and kill them all. Now you must decide which of the two blue challenges you must do next.
- If you wish, you can either traverse the abyss by performing the blue challenge by the Z-Point, or perform the blue challenge by the tube for the shortcut. You should do the abyss first as there are extra challenges and other items to nab down there; do the blue challenge by the Z-Point for an easy win. You can get either one of them later if you like; this guide assumes you chose to go into the abyss.
- Inside the abyss, do the orange challenge and kill all the Elites. This unlocks a blue challenge in the abyss, by the Transform Machine (if you have unlocked it).
- Do the blue challenge; it will lead to a Wind Cannon. Launch Blob up and follow it to the end to unlock an orange challege. Do the orange challenge and kill the Heavies, then start the blue challenge that unlocks to leap to the exit of the abyss into a new area.
- Find the blue challenge in this new ink-flooded area. It will lead to the second pump and to another brown challenge; you'll easily take out the pump with 50 purple paint points, draining the ink out here as well.
- Three green challenges will appear after clearing out the ink in this area. The one near the pump is simple: paint a row of silos red, the other a row orange. The one at the top is the toughest and requires careful painting: start with the yellow targets at the bottom, then climb up the silos and lock-on jump onto a blue Paintbot and paint the green targets, then lock-on jump onto the blue Paintbot by the blue targets.
- The first Gate should now be open; if you wish, search this area for a tube you roll through back to the last blue challenge you had skipped (as you had gone into the abyss instead). Do that for a quick and easy challenge, then go to the slope covered in spikes and hit the switch, slipping past them towards the first Gate.
- Head into the second area past the first Gate. Do the brown challenge and sneak past the Elites, taking out the Landmark. Kill the Elites afterwards so that they don't get in your way.
- Do the nearby orange challenge next, then patrol the area, seeking out three Turrets guarding the ink pools; hit the trigger buttons by the pools as well to drain them of ink and make it safe to swim in. After killing the Turrets, find and destroy the Heavies guarding the trigger button to retract the spike slope where the second Gate is.
- A slew of challenges will unlock after this. The green challenge next to where the Heavies where will ask you to paint the nearby silos blue and green; start with the green target on the top of them all first. To climb up the silos quickly, use Blob's lock-on jump from the nearby crates onto the blue Paintbot on one of the silos.
- The one near the last challenge asks you to paint the pumps; you do not have to paint the pistons on them, so this is pretty simply.
- The last green challenge one, by the crates, will ask you to paint them all various colors; don't forget Blob's ability to lock-on jump onto Paintbots, which will save you time and help accidentally paint objects you didn't mean to.
- Finally, find the brown challenge and do it to take out a Landmark. Now head through the second Gate.
- In the third area, head up to the Police Station Landmark, kill the enemies, and use the brown challenge to take it out. Next, do the unlocked brown challenge to take out a Jail.
- Follow the linear path up to a brown challenge that will let you take down a pump, then go through the spike gantlet to reach the city areas.
- Do the blue challenge you find there to follow a bunch of Z-Points up to a ledge, depositing you in the gardener's housing and unlocking several challenges.
- Start the orange challenge next to you first. Just drop down and kill the Heavies. Climb back up the gardener's housing and do the green challenge; simply paint the targets in order as you find them.
- Find the other orange challenge on top of the gardener housing. Start it, then wreck the paint truck nearby and kill all the Heavies while you are still invincible.
- With your invincibility still in effect, start the orange challenge by the ink wells. Slaughter all the turrets, Heavies, and Elites while you are still invincible. Once they are all dead, the last brown challenge will unlock.
- The brown challenge wants you to transform the Hanging Gardens Landmark. For the purple weakpoint, just climb up the pipes and silos. For the green weakpoint, do the same and leap to it, or use the Wind Cannon. For the orange weakpoint up top, use the Z-Point by the Wind Cannon.
- Now that you are done with this area, head to the top of the Landmark via Z-Point and start the blue challenge, then ride the tube there to the exit of this level.
Bonus Levels
- Billboard O' Rama: This is actually easier than it looks. You need to hit all 15 billboards on the walls for a gold; to do so, you basically need to wall roll to a billboard, then wall-jump off it to the next one. At the third billboard, hit it then wall-jump your way along the next four or five billboards; this is the only way to get the group of three in the park ahead. You should be able to get the remaining billboards similarly, by chain jumping off of billboards.
- Inky Canyon: Simple: kill all the Inkies. Stay a red color and bash your way to the end of the Inky brigade, then hop into the Wind Cannon. Now kill all the Purple Elites and hop into the second Wind Cannon they guard to get launched straight to the exit.
Styles
- Style #1: In the first area. First, find the pump and drain the ink out via the brown challenge, then leap to the ledge it sits on from where you found the brown challenge.
- Style #2: In the first area. Drain the ink first, then climb onto the taller buildings to the right of the brown and orange challenges and find some piping leading to the Style, where it sits on a silo.
- Style #3: In the abyss. From where you land after starting the blue challenge that leads you down into the abyss from the first area, go right and jump on the nearby broken storm drain, following it to the Style and a 1-Up.
- Style #4: In the abyss. It's at the farthest end of the abyss, on the same side the Transform Machine sits.
- Style #5: In the abyss. After completing the first orange challenge in the abyss, you start the blue challenge, hopping into a Wind Cannon to get launched onto the catwalks above. The Style will be behind Blob from where he lands on the catwalk.
- Style #6: Right across from the second pump you shut down; it's on the wall between two giant pipes. To get to it, have Blob jump off the crates to the left of it and roll along the wall.
- Style #7: In the same area with the second pump; you have to climb to the top of the area's network of silos. The Style is there, on a platform wedged between two spiked walls.
- Style #8: In the second area, after the first Gate. Get on top of the silos with the electric plates (you paint them green and blue for a green challenge) and follow them to a billboard and the Style.
- Style #9: In the second area, after the first Gate. To the right of the trigger button to lower the spikes in front of the Gate is a river of ink and a Style on the wall on the other side.
- Style #10: In the third area. Enter through the second Gate and cross the bridge, then immediately go to the right along the front of silos overlooking the ink river; you should find it in a small dead-end.
- Style #11, #12: In the third area, on top of the garderner's housing (the area with the ink pools you can clean up using the trigger buttons guarded by the Turret). One is right by an orange challenge, the other is near where you first land from the Z-Points just past the spike gantlet.
- Style #13: In the third area, on the final Hanging Garden Landmark. Use the Z-Points to reach the top where the tube that leads to the exit is, then look around for the Style sitting on top of a pole and jump to it. You can get this anytime before or after you transform this Landmark.
Chroma City Fun Park
- The first section is actually already in color; the Raydians have captured it. Start the blue challenge and follow the linear path down to the bottom, past the spike traps.
- Enter the next area and start the first orange challenge. Take out the Heavies. A slew of challenge will unlock.
- Do the brown challenge to break down the Jail landmark. The green challenges are mostly easy save for one by the conveyors; you may want to use the nearby Paint Truck for that one. Save the green challenge by the Z-Point for last.
- The green challenge by the Z-Point will send you over to a ledge with a brown challenge. The brown challenge will ask you to get 50 Paint Points and hop into the nearby Wind Cannon to launch over to a Propoganda Tower Landmark to take down. Incidentally, the only way to get the two nearby Billboards is to launch from this Wind Cannon and press B as Blob passes over the girder the Billboards are placed on; Blob should drop down straight onto the girder, letting you paint them.
- Below the previous brown challenge is an orange one. Start it and kill the Elites. This will spawn some Heavies and a brown challenge for you to use in destroying the Watchtower Landmark.
- Follow the linear path down into the holding pens. Do the brown challenge to take out the Landmark here and unlock some more challenges.
- Do the green challenges, carefully painting the holding pens, then do the blue one. The blue one is sneaky in that it only gives you two road flares, one at the start and the goal flare. To reach the goal flare, go to the left up the pipes and around the Landmark you just smashed. It will be located behind the barricades.
- The Gate Button will also be here; smash it and head through the first Gate. Go the brown challenge and take out the Jail Landmark.
- Start the unlocked blue challenge and race across the conveyor, avoiding the blocks coming your way. On the other side, start the brown challenge, take out the Turret, then the Water Pump Landmark.
- A green challenge will appear. Start that, and follow the monorail roofs, painting them the correct red and orange colors. After that, follow the path along the containment units until you spot a blue challenge; head to it.
- The blue challenge wants you to climb the containment units up to a Z-Point; you may actually NOT want to have a high Paint Point count as Blob may be too fat to squeeze through the nooks here. If you are having trouble, trying jump out and around these tight nooks. At any rate, the flares will lead you to a simple green challenge you can beat.
- From the green challenge, try to get 100 Red Paint Points and drop onto the brown challenge below. Or you go back to where the blue challenge was and follow it down to a spike pit. Hit the trigger button, then lock-on jump the red Paintbots sitting in the gaps in the spikes to the brown challenge. Use the Wind Cannon there to launch up to the Ink Monolith and take it out with 100 Red Paint Points; if you run out, climb onto the monorail roofs where the green challenge was and look to the roofing on the opposite side for a red Paintbot.
- The spikes should now finally be gone, so drop down and seek out a green challenge. It wants you to save the Graydians here; do so and you will also be lead to the second Gate. Exit on through.
- Start the blue challenge ahead and slip past the pistons, following the trail. It ends into an area with a green challenge; to beat this one, climb to the top and paint the red ones closest to you, then the purples as you carefully make your way back down, then back to red to finish the targets at the bottom.
- Go forward past this last green challenge and make your way to a series of platforms with spikes and Graydians. Save the Graydians and check the green challenge; it should automatically be completed.
- Climb the targets the previous green challenge wanted you to paint. Atop of them is a brutal brown challenge; you must transform the Centrifuge Landmark, but it will not be easy. Use the Z-Point to leap up to the top, then collect the blue Paintbots as you take the left-hand path. Use lock-on jumps to short cut over the spikes. Be VERY careful on the third catwalk as you can actually fall off the side of the catwalk between the wall and the pipe. As soon as you take out the weakpoint, drop straight down and use the Z-Point to get back to the fork. Now take the right path, collecting the yellow Paintbots. The third catwalk is a pain as they give you barely enough room to manuever around the pistons; give them a wide berth before the spikes pop up and hit Blob. Also, you can fall through between the pipes and the wall on the way to the weakpoint, so be careful there as well. Once both weakpoints are finally down, this is over.
- With everything done, you can take the Exit Pool at the bottom of this area when ready.
Bonus Levels
- Factory Run: Follow the flares to the goal in less that a minute for Gold. You'll need the pistons to push you up to reach the flares high in the air for the first section. For the second, simply use the conveyors to zip past the pistons and the Turrets. For the last second, take it slow, carefully waiting for the pistons to move first before rushing ahead.
- Blob Smash: Your biggest enemy will probably be the controls and the camera. Go from island to island via Wind Cannon/Z-Point and kill all the enemies. Make sure to hit the Paintbots first before killing the enemies; this way, after killing them, the Paintbots will have restocked and you can collect them again before leaving, keeping your Paint Points healthy. At the island with the Heavies, make sure you are green and have over 60 Paint Points before launching to the last enemy island (or you will not be able to defeat all the Green Elites there).
Styles
- Style #1: After reaching the first orange challenge where you take on the Heavies behind the barricades, turn around. You should see the Style there, next to the colored barricades where the Raydians are hiding.
- Style #2: In the first area, within plain sight of the upper path with the conveyor belts.
- Style #3: In the first area, within plain sight of the second orange challenge, near where you get a cutscene showing you the major challenges of the first area.
- Style #4: In the first area, to the right of the Watchtower in a little nook between the Watchtower and the wall.
- Style #5: In the second area, near where you start the brown challenge to take out the Water Pump Landmark. Destroy the Turret; above the concrete it was on are a pair of pipework you can climb up to a semi-secret area and a Style.
- Style #6: In the second area; you can't miss it, as it's part of the red and orange target monorail roofs you must paint for one of the green challenges.
- Style #7: In the second area; can't miss this one as you perform the brown challenge where you take out the Ink Monolith Landmark.
- Style #8: In the second area. After taking out the Ink Monolith Landmark, jump onto the nearby catwalks and then onto the monorail roofs. One of them leads to a Color Wheel, the other a Style.
- Style #9: In the second area, right above the second Gate Button. Just climb the containment units to reach it.
- Style #10: In the third area. From where you pass through the second Gate, go to the blue challenge ahead and turn left, should be right in plain sight.
- Style #11: In the third area, within plain sight of the green challenge where you must rescue the Graydians on the spiky ledges.
- Style #12: In the third area, after using the Z-Point near the brown challenge to launch up to the the fork leading to the two Centrifuge Landmark weakpoints. Simply turn around after you land and you'll see it.

- Take the Wind Cannon and get launched the the orange challenge. Start it and drop down and kill the four Turrets guarding the city square here (two are on the city hall roof). Be careful of the outer walls in this area as they are literally covered in ink and will ink Blob if he touches them.
- Next, do the brown challenge. Stay away from the Elites and take out the two Police Station Landmarks. This will stop the flow of baddies all around this area.
- Two green challenges will appear. To get onto top of the barracks you must paint orange, jump onto the nearby buildings and from there onto the barracks. The other green challenge is simple; paint the target buildings around the city square.
- Now do the two brown challenges that appear; the first one is simple, but the second requires 200 Paint Points for two Jails, guarded by Elites. Move quickly.
- A blue challenge will unlock; hit the Gate Button and head through the first Gate to start it. You may want to use the Paint Truck if you haven't already to speed through the spikes.
- At the end is an orange challenge that just informs you of the Wind Cannon. Before using it, go a little further on to a brown challenge that asks you to take out a Propaganda Tower for 60 purple Paint Points.
- Launch over the wall using the Wind Cannon. On the other side, round up 50 green Paint Points and take out the weakpoint.
- Now go blue, then take the Z-Point here and follow the path to a blue weakpoint. Take it out, then follow the next Z-Point to a yellow weakpoint and take it out.
- Now you must follow the path of Fuel Rod Clusters, painting them all the target color. This should be easy as long as you don't fall; the Paintbots you need are all within reach.
- You should make your way back to the start of this area after getting them all. Now you must progress around the Mega Reactor some more, painting more Fuel Rod Clusters. There will be enemies defending this one, but nothing you can't handle.
- After another half-lap around the Mega Reactor, you must paint yet more Fuel Rod Clusters. These will have ink wells in the center of them, plus enemies. Let the foes come to you and kill them off while you paint carefully.
- Once every Fuel Rod Cluster is painted, the Mega Reactor is finished and you may now use a Z-Point to leap out to the second Gate and into the third area.
- Bash your way through the Inkies by rolling over the walls above the Hot Plates, then jumping onto them. Battle your way to the orange challenge.
- The orange challenge needs you to take out the two Tanks in the courtyard ahead. Grab the Transform Engine if it is there to create extra cover for you to use, then bash the Tanks.
- A brown challenge will appear. Use it to take out the Tank Depot; kill the Tank that appears first though, and ignore the Elites, they'll just keep coming. More challenges will appear, including another brown one in the courtyard.
- Start the brown challenge in the courtyard and climb up to the top and take out the Police Station to end the Elite hordes. To the left is another brown challenge that lets you take down the last Propaganda Tower in the game.
- Now go to the right of the Gate to take on an annoying green challenge. You must paint all the helicopters and the helipads, but there is not enough room. Start with the red color and paint all the targets. Now stay in the central area of the helicopters and start with the yellow targets, then the blues.
- Go through the Gate and battle your way to the brown challenge. Take out the Watchtower, ignoring the Elites.
- Cross the bridge ahead and it will drop you into a pit. Kill the enemies and wait for a Wind Cannon to become active, then launch yourself out.
- Go forward. Start the orange challenge and kill all the Elites hanging out on the sides of the Ministry of Ink building, then use the Z-Point on the right hand side to jump to the area in the back and kill these Elites here as well. You don't have to kill the Turrets although it does help to kill the pairs in the two side areas so they don't bother you later. Note that the Turrets can help you kill Elites for you.
- The back area is ringed with Turrets you can't reach, plus new Elites. Ignore them and start the final brown challenge. Take out the weakpoint on the Water Pump with 50 green Paint Points, then find the three brown weakpoints on the building (on the side of the building previously covered in ink, on the roof, and high on the front, so much so that you'll need to drop down from the rooftop).
- With the Ministry of Ink taken out, the Turrets will disappear. You can take the exit now or explore if you wish.
Bonus Levels
- Hill Climb: Despite the warnings the Resistance give you, this one is actually pretty easy. Just paint the targets as you come across them; as long as you don't fall, or miss one, you'll always have the Paintbots you need to get the correct color.
- Deep Down: This one is also fairly easy. There's little need to wall jump and more need to wall-roll as that will save you time. Jump from ledge to ledge painting the walls. Also, do not miss a single tree branch. It's VERY easy to miss a branch that is overlooking the Exit Pool area; you have to snag it in mid-air by jumping to it from the ledges with the red Paintbot. The Exit Pool pit will also have two trees for you to paint.
Styles
- Style #1: In the first area, go left from the Paint Truck and follow the row of buildings until you spot it.
- Style #2: On the administrative building in the first area, almost in between the two Turrets on the roof you must smash.
- Style #3: In the first area, on the barracks you must paint orange for a green challenge.
- Style #4: In the second area. Seek out the first brown challenge near the Wind Cannon that launches you over the wall into the Fuel Rod Cluster area. It's in the little ditch to the right of the propaganda tower.
- Style #5: In the area with the Mega Reactor and the Fuel Rod Clusters. Right from where you land after getting launched over, turn to the right and look around for it.
- Style #6: In the third area, right in plain sight in the corridor between the Hot Plates, guarded by Inkies.
- Style #7, #8, #9: In the third area. These are all pretty much in plain sight in the area with the two Tanks. One is in a street's dead-end, two on rooftops.
- Style #10: In the third area. Located behind one of the helicopters you must paint.
- Style #11: In third area. Can't miss this one; it's in plain sight, near the Watchtower, right before the bridge trap.
- Style #12: In the third area. In the pit where the bridge trap drops you into.
- Style #13: You'll land right next to this after getting launched out of the bridge trap pit.
Lake Raydia
- Haul up the linear path to the Z-Point. The Prof will appear along the way to explain the climax of the storyline.
- Use the Z-Point and start the brown challenge. Ignore the Elites and collect enough Paintbots to go brown and take out the Water Pump Landmark, clearing out the ink.
- Keep moving forward and use the Z-Point to land in the next area. Do the blue challenge and race forward along the pistons, waiting for them to get of your way before jumping over them.
- Head into the next area and follow the dock to a brown challenge. Take out the Water Pump, killing all in your way.
- Next, do the blue challenge, and leap your across another set of pistons across the other side of the bay.
- Now you are by the Boat Landmark. Use a Paint Truck and raid the ship, making your way to the back and taking out the weakpoint. A green challenge will unlock, which you will easily beat. Now you've finished all the challenges for this level.
- Go down from the ship and the Prof will illustrate a Z-Point for you to use. Use it to fly up to the tops of the cranes and then leap your way across to the pipe bridge leading to a tower. Below the tower are giant pipes you can bound across as you cross the ocean. Before doing this, make sure you've collected all that you want to get, because there is no turning back (including all the Styles and the Graydians in the hull of the Boat Landmark).
- Make your way across the ocean, using the Z-Pads on the platforms and the mini-boats. You will eventually make it onto a spaceship; it will fly away and you will have no way to return to the previous section. Make sure you do not fall off the ship!
- The first section is straightforward; just fight your way past the enemies (ignore the respawning Elites) until you finally hit a ramp going up.
- Go up. Your next objective is to take out the weakpoints of the three groups of canisters ahead: red, orange, and yellow. This will cause the canisters to detach and fall away. Do so, then go up the ramp next to the yellow canisters.
- Follow the path through the first Gate. Now you must continue forward and head down the next ramp to find three more weakpoints: green, purple, blue.
- This is another point of no return of sorts, so make sure you are once again ready. At the end of the line is a ramp going down and a Z-Point. Use the Z-Point first; it will deposit you by a pair of jet engines. Carefully cross the thin platform to the yellow weakpoint and take it out. If you need Paint, turn around from where you land and collect the yellow Paintbots by the silos.
- Ink will be flooding everywhere. Take the only way out via the functioning Z-Point. It will land you by the ramp, with the previous paths flooded with ink. Go down the ramp and follow the long path along the support structures that previously held the green, purple, and blue canisters to another ramp leading up to the second Gate and Comrade Black.
- Time for the final battle. You need to paint the fuel rods that pop out of the ground. Stock up on 60+ green Paint Points, then paint each of the fuel rods; ignore the Elites for now. Comrade Black meanwhile will continually power his mech's guns with ink and then aim at you and fire; the shots are easy to dodge, but can de-color your painted fuel rods, so make sure to avoid putting a painted fuel rod between you and him when he fires.
- Make sure you have over 50 green Paint Points after all the fuel rods are painted. Once they are, Comrade Black will be stunned and you can jump into the green weakpoint in his hat and use 50 green Paint Points to damage him.
- Afterward, he will recover, spikes will appear in the area, and you'll now have to paint purple and orange-target fuel rods. Kill the Elites now as they will no longer respawn, then start with one color first. When you finish that color, those rods will lower, allowing you to concentrate on the next color.
- Comrade Black will be stunned again after all the fuel rods are down, and his weakpoint will always be the same color as Blob's current color, so make sure to have 50+ Paint Points ready when you take down the last fuel rod.
- After having his weakpoint damaged again, you'll now have to paint green, purple, and orange-target fuel rods. Comrade Black will become much more aggressive and there will be spikes everywhere. The outer rim of this area is safe although it is easily to accidentally run into fire hydrants, de-coloring Blob. Do the best you can, concentrating on one color at a time, and make sure to have 50+ Paint Points ready when you down the last fuel rod.
- For the last segment, you'll have to paint green, purple, orange, and brown-target fuel rods. Comrade Black will be homicidal and the spikes are everywhere. Try using the Paintbots to dart around the spikes, and go after the browns first. Keep it up and you'll be able to damage Comrade Black a final time.
- After you damage Comrade Black's weakpoint a fourth time, he will finally go down, and the level's only Transform Engine will appear. Collect it to end the level and win the game.
Bonus Levels
- Sinking Feeling: You will have barely enough time to get the gold on this. You must take out all four Landmarks, and you must be extremely fast. Grab the blue Big Paintbot at the start and wall jump like crazy straight to the Purple Landmark. Get the blue and red Paintbots, then take it out. Now go right and wall jump like crazy to the blue Paintbot on the small platform at the turn and lock-on jump it, then wall jump ahead to the Blue Landmark and take it out. Now wall jump through the next alley, lock-on jumping a blue Paintbot on an island at the turn as before, then following it to a yellow Paintbot and the Green Landmark; you CANNOT get wet and lose your blue on your way over here as there is no blue Paintbot near the Green Landmark for you to use. Finally, wall jump along the next alleyway to the Yellow Landmark, take it out, and rush like mad to the exit behind it.
- Tower of Power: This is just a long obstacle course up to the up; get there in less than 1:05 for the gold. Pretty straightforward, but there is some shortcuts you can take, such as jump directly over the first bed of spikes rather than hitting the trigger button, and jumping onto the furthest platform that appears whenever you hit the purple trigger buttons to raise them.
Styles
- Style #1: In the first area, in plain sight above one of the giant pistons near the start of the level.
- Style #2: In the first area, lying near the Water Pump Landmark.
- Style #3: In the first area, in the area where you do the blue challenge to shut down the pistons. Turn to the right after getting the last flare and you should see it on the silos on the opposite side.
- Style #4, #5: In the first area, by the Boat Landmark. They are both on top of the cranes. You'll need to use the Z-Points by the boat to fling yourself up to them.
- Style #6: In the first area, by the Boat Landmark. Make your way up the cranes over to the tower where you leap to the giant tubes in the ocean. Instead of dropping into the ocean, look for a small ledge you can drop down onto just below the roof of the tower.
- Style #7: In the first section of the spaceship area. Play through the area until you hit a ramp leading up (a cutscene will then play, showing you three weakpoints). It's underneath the ramp.
- Style #8: In the first section of the spaceship. After detaching the yellow canisters, you should see it on the three-hole platform they were on. Carefully collect it without falling down.
- Style #9: In the first section of the spaceship. After detaching the yellow canisters, you will see a ramp leading up to the next area. It's underneath this ramp.
- Style #10, #11: As you use the Z-Point to bounce up to the jet engines where the yellow weakpoint is, press B when Blob lands above one of the ledges holding groups of Heavies and a Style.
- Style #12: Before traveling across the long thin platform to the yellow weakpoint by the jet engines, drop underneath the thin platform to find a Style.
- 'Style #13: It's right before the ramp you follow up to reach the second Gate and Comrade Black. Look around the giant holes that formally supported the green canisters, below the green weakpoint. You should see it on the edge of the void, amongst those holes.
