The Daytona-500 is the first major sporting event televised of the year. In 2010, the starting time was rolled back to 1:00 pm ET as a response to the many requests for an earlier race. Ironically, the 2010 race was the longest race in Daytona-500 history and was not completed until after 7:30pm ET.
