Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II was released on February 19, 2009. The game's original release date was February 27, but after going gold, THQ announced that the game's release date was being bumped up. Dawn of War 2 is a real-time strategy game based in the Warhammer 40,000 universe and is a sequel to Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.
About the Game

Dawn of War 2 is a sequel to the original Dawn of War, and is a real-time strategy game based in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. DoW2 makes a number of innovations in the RTS genre, primarily in the single-player aspect. Instead of providing players with unlimited troops based on the amount of resources they gather, in Dawn of War 2 you'll only get a handful of squads whose fate hinges entirely on its sergeant.
If a sergeant falls on the battlefield, that squad is permanently deceased. Even if every person in a squad gets killed, if the sergeant is still alive, more people can be added to the squad, but if the sergeant is down, it's up to the player to revive him before that squad can get back in the action. In RPG-esque fashion, each squad's sergeant has a distinct look and personality, can be customized with equipment and items that are found on the battlefield.
