Each year, members of the World Economic Forum (WEF) meet in Davos, Switzerland, to network, share ideas and form solutions to improve the global economy. For five days, the heads of some of the world's largest corporations join political leaders, academics, artists, religious leaders, trade unionists and representatives from international organizations such as Amnesty International and Greenpeace to discuss economic issues facing the international community.

"Don't forget: this is not a meeting solely for business tycoons. Many participants are social entrepreneurs, and politicians and business people from poorer countries. They relish the opportunity to make their case and meet the people who have the money to help." BBC News: Q&A: World Economic Forum 2008 (January 21, 2008)
