David West is a power forward with the NBA's New Orleans Hornets.
Career
West was a four-year starter at Xavier University before being drafted by the Hornets in 2003. West had a breakthrough year in 2005-06 when he averaged 17.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and was runner up for the NBA Most Improved Player Award. West improved his numbers even more the next season, despite missing 30 games due to injury.
In 2007-08, West played well enough to be selected as a reserve to his first NBA All-Star Game. Along with teammate Chris Paul, West helped lead the Hornets to a #2 seed in the Western Conference of the NBA Playoffs.
In 2009, West was again named to the All-Star team.
