Screenwriter and director David S. Goyer is a frequent contributor to films based on comic books, with credits on all three Blade films and The Crow franchise. He is credited with co-writing the story for the 2008 smash hit The Dark Knight.

David S. Goyer sat on the panel for The Dark Knight at the 2008 San Diego Comic-Con. When asked about the possibility of The Joker appearing in the next Batman film, Goyer acknowledged that it would be a "no-brainer" if Heath Ledger were still alive.
