David Leslie was a British Touring Car Championship driver who won nine BTCC races during the course of his forty-year career, and later became a widely recognized and admired commentator on the race car circuit for Eurosport. On March 30, 2008, the private jet he was aboard crashed into a housing estate in Farnborough, Kent, England, killing five, including Leslie, and the head of Apex Motorsport, Richard Lloyd. The jet was headed to Nogaro, in southern France, where the two were due to complete testing on a new Jaguar XKR racer.
