  • It's true that "Diamond" David Lee Roth is known as much for his over-the-top showmanship and outspoken behavior as for his contribution to music, but as the frontman for Van Halen he was at least partially responsible for some of the greatest classic rock anthems of all time, including the No. 1 1984 smash "Jump."
  • No More VH Bros.

After releasing an EP in 1985 that was essentially an excuse to make videos for covers "California Girls" by the Beach Boys and "Just a Gigolo," Roth left Van Halen to begin a solo career that was successful as well, although fan favorites like "Yankee Rose" and "Just Like Paradise" never matched his former band's level of success.
  • Not Just a Pretty Face

Roth is also an author and former radio host who briefly replaced Howard Stern on most CBS Radio stations when Stern fled for Sirius Satellite Radio.
