  David Fincher is an American director who began his career directing music videos for artists including Paula Abdul, George Michael, Aerosmith, and Madonna. His most notable video was for REM's "Losing My Religion."

  On June 24, 2009, it was reported that Fincher was in advanced talks to direct the film The Social Network, said to be based on the formation of Facebook. Believed to be an adaptation of Ben Mezrich's novel The Accidental Billionaires, Kevin Spacey is set to produce.
