Early Life

David Filo was born in Wisconsin and moved to Louisiana at the age of six. He received his degree in computer engineering from Tulane University and then his MS from Stanford University.

Yahoo!

In 1994 Filo and fellow Stanford graduate Jerry Yang founded Yahoo!. The company became incorporated in 1995. In February of 2008, Microsoft attempted to buy Yahoo! for $44.6 billion, but the offer was rejected. Yahoo! investor and share holder Carl Icahn was not in favor of the rejection and has since threatened to take action to have the Yahoo! board removed.
