American Idol contestant David Cook performed the song "Always Be My Baby" on the April 15, 2008 episode of the hit televised singing competition. His brother Adam Cook was in attendance.

• Randy: "Dude, I think more than anyone else on the show right now you are ready to make an album. I've never stood up yet this season, but I will now."

• Paula: "That's awesome. That song could be on a movie soundtrack. You're it. You've got the whole package."

• Simon: "David it was like of coming out of karaoke hell and into a breath of fresh air. That was original, it was daring and it stood out by a mile. This is the sign of a great potential artist, someone who takes risks."
