David Bowie is a musician, singer, songwriter, actor and fashion icon whose fierce experimentation with popular music has had an enormous effect on genres from punk and New Wave to goth and electronica. His "Ziggy Stardust" persona helped define the glam rock movement of the Seventies, and his early interest in online endeavors made him an Internet music pioneer as well.

Ziggy Stardust
While Bowie started out as a Psychedelic Folk singer in the late 1960s, it wasn't until his 1970s Glam Rock period that Bowie started to gain a significant amount of success and fame. Assuming the alter-ego Ziggy Stardust, Bowie released a string of hit albums that help to redefine popular music. Since his 70s heyday, Bowie has continued to experiment with new genres of music and release albums.Acting
