  • College Football Career

    Bowens began his collegiate career playing college football with the Michigan Wolverines in 1995. He set school records for the most sacks in a single season, at 12, in 1996. Bowens transferred to Western Illinois University in 1998, playing one season and recording 134 tackles, 37 tackles for a loss, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.   • NFL Career

    After college, Bowens was selected 158th overall in the 1999 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos. He made his professional debut that same year, playing in all 16 regular season games. After spending the 2000 season with the Green Bay Packers, he spent time on the Washington Redskins' practice squad, then joined the Miami Dolphins in 2001. Bowens played a total of five seasons with the Dolphins, recording his statistically-best season in 2004, with 41 tackles, seven sacks and six pass deflections.
