Magician David Blaine risks going blind as a result of his latest stunt, The Dive of Death. The stunt involves him hanging upside down from a height of six stories over Wollman Rink in Central Park, for a period of 60 hours.
According to doctors not associated with the stunt, it could have serious health implications, including steeply increased blood pressure and the possibility of resulting stroke or blindness. Blaine plans to move around over the Wollman Rink and will drink liquids and restore circulation when necessary. The stunt, which began at 8:30 a.m. EDT, September 22, 2008, will end at 10:45 p.m., September 24, 2008, when Blaine plans to plummet to the ground.
