Banda's Life In Malawi
Madonna was given temporary custody of Banda when he was 13 months old and living in an orphanage.He was put there by his father, after his mother died from and Aids related illness. Banda's biological parents lost two sons during childbirth before they had David.
The boy's father, a peasant farmer by the name of Yohane Banda, believed he could not care for David, and put him in the orphanage. He originally intended to take him home when he was old enough to eat solid food.
