Aardsma selected by San Francisco Giants in the 1st round (22nd pick overall) of the 2003 MLB Draft. He was traded along with Jerome Williams to Chicago Cubs for LaTroy Hawkins on May 28, 2008.Baseball Almanac: David Aardsma Trades and Transactions After the 2006 season, he was sent to Chicago White Sox along with Carlos Vasquez in exchange for Neal Cotts.
