Career
Dave Gibbons started comic book work drawing for British publishing companies like IPC, where he worked on the series 2000 AD. In the 1980s, he moved to DC Comics, contributing his talents to the graphic novel series Watchmen.Working alongside acclaimed writer Alan Moore, Gibbons's use of color and iconography helped make the series one of the bestselling graphic novels of its time.
Watchmen also earned Gibbons three Jack Kirby Awards for "Best Finite Series," "Best New Series," and "Best Writer/Artist."
Gibbons has since continued to draw for DC, working on Green Lantern, Action Comics, and the 2005 Infinite Crisis series.
