  • NBA Career

    In 1962, Dave DeBusschere was drafted by the Detroit Pistons. He became a player-coach in 1964, making him the youngest coach in NBA history at age 24. DeBusschere was traded to the New York Knicks in 1969, where he helped the team win the NBA Finals in 1970 and 1973.

    DeBusschere was known for his rebounding ability and physical style of play. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team six times and was an eight-time NBA All-Star. DeBusschere retired from basketball in 1974.NBA.com: Dave DeBusschere
