On thursday november 19, 2009 Daul Kim was found dead in her apartment in Paris. According to early reports, she committed suicide. The french police have started an investigation into the possible cause of death. Daul Kim used to work with both Elite and Esteem, a South Koreanmodeling agency. Kim was a multi-talented model, painter and filmmaker, and was active as model for many well-known fashion designers like Alexander McQueen and Chanel. Kim was one in a series of successful models who died under unnatural circumstances, which raised questions on the reason. Daul Kim was born in Seoul on May 31, 1989. She started her modeling career in 2006, when she appeared in the Korean edition of Vogue.

In 2007 she starts working for Chanel, Dries Van Noten, and Maison Martin Marigela in Paris. In subsequent years, she is a regular face of Vogue issues around the world, including China. In 2008, she was voted Model of The Year by Anan magzine. That year, New York magazine contracted her to kep a video diary of her presence at the New York Fashion Week.

In 2009 her star rises even further, with running shows for Vivienne Westwood, Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Maison Martin Margiela, and Dries van Noten in London, Milan and Paris.
