Early Life
Daryle Lamar Ward was born in Lynwood, California, on June 27, 1975. In 1994, he was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the Major League Baseball amateur draft.Baseball-Reference.com: Daryle WardPro Career
On May 14, 1998, Ward made his MLB debut with the Houston Astros. In his first full season with the Astros, Ward appeared in 64 games and finished the season with a .273 batting average with 8 home runs. In 2003, he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
