Darlene Tracy claims she pitched an idea for a community-service themed reality show called The Philanthropist to Oprah Winfrey's production company in 2005. Tracy alleges that she gave specific details about the show to Harpo Entertainment's executive producer, Ellen Rakieten, and was then turned down. In November 2006, Winfrey announced the concept of her new show, Oprah's Big Give.
